There is no Verizon recall I just got off the phone with my HTC rep he says there is no recalls on either device but can only fully confirm VzW as thats what he deals with but that HTC would never recall a handset for software issues that they would just push a software update. He did do some looking thru the system though and said VzW and SPCS will have a update by end of January maybe sooner SPCS to fix certain issues and VzW to add apps in and that SPCS has requested a design update but he is not sure the specifics on it.

If there is no "recall" can anyone explain why TP is out of stock for such a long time? I had a few issues with my TP such as overheating and earpiece sound quality. I reported this within 30 days but they can't order a replacement for me since the system won't allow to enter the order for TP. It was supposed to become available today (according to the Sales Support at Sprint) but it's still unavailable on their site. I hope they will honor they promise and exchange my TP because at this point I am out of my 30 days. By the way the wording the rep uses was "TP was pulled". Take it for what its worth.

Because of a weak economy, Sprint didn't contract HTC to manufacture enough for the demand that they ended up getting from us?

I don't know, I am just thinking out loud...

Back order is not a recall....seriously do I need to explain it? If they are not in stock it's probable that HTC or Sprint is fixing the current batches, most likely the chrome. Why bother sending out the device just to know it will be getting returned for something that is a known issue.

If there was an actual recall, WE WOULD GET TOLD TO RETURN OUR PHONES. Did anyone in here get a message/call/ozmosis that you should return your phone to your nearest Sprint store? No....? It is NOT a recall!

Could be:
1. Didn't order enough from HTC, and waiting for HTC to make more
2. HTC is manufacturing rev2, and Sprint has decided to replace rev2 for rev1 on an exception basis once rev2 arrives

I have a great Sprint account manager for my company. I work with him all the time and he sends me emails about release dates, which so far have been right on with the actual release dates. He busts his *** to make sure that I am happy, throws me free stuff all the time (3 BT headsets, countless extra batteries, sync cradles, car chargers, etc) and I even call him on his personal cell phone to just chat it up.

I say all of this because I want you to understand the relationship I have with my Sprint account manager before I go any further. I implicitly trust him and he has alwys been 100% honest with me about everything with Sprint, both the good and bad. He also works out the corporate office in Altamonte Springs, Florida and in that office they have a tech test center for testing all new phones on the Sprint network, as well as for R & D.

With all of that said, I ordered two new Touch Pros yesterday from him and about 15 minutes later I got an email from him that the Touch Pros are on back order and it would be about a week before I got them, instead of next day as usual. I asked if he could get it to me quicker and he is trying to work his magic. But my point is I am absolutely sure that if there was a recall he would know about it and warn me.

I personally think the Sprint store that the OP went to either didn't know what they were talking about, were making assumptions based on conjecture or were basing their comments off unfound rumors that they had heard God knows where.

Ok, so it's a major revision of the TP, but not a recall.

Major revisions are a big deal though, especially on a barely 1 month old phone.

It has been confirmed to me by a Sprint rep that the chrome is a known issue and that it will be addressed but I never got a time line and I was never informed of how it would be addressed. If it was then all of us that have phones that are built before a certain date would have been informed in some way to return our phones for a replacement. For the rest of us, those with problems will end up going to a store to complain, others will have cracked chrome and not care and still others may never even see the problem. just to let you know, you are not entirely correct. the rumor had a recall and customers WERE NOT notified of via email, phone, or mail. You said in your previous post that when there are recalls that customers are notified. check your facts bruh!
