Re: After a hard reset...
It's kinda like re-formatting your phone or doing a system restore on a pc. Brings it back to an "out of the box" state. No need to do one unless you are having certain problems or issues with the phone. Your phone will still be programmed to your phone number after a hard reset.

Re: After a hard reset...
I'm hoping I never need to do a hard reset, but I want to try out a lot of the fixes - e.g. the cleanup post - to see if they cleared up some persistent problems I've been having. I wanted to make sure I could 'undo' everything if I still have the same issues. Basically I'm trying to figure out if I have a hardware problem or a software problem.
So the phone was programmed in the store with my number? Is that part just a matter of hooking up the ESN with the phone number? I was thinking there was some secret complicated set of steps you had to take! The guy in Best Buy had a bunch of numbers written down on a pad while he was setting mine up - that's why I thought I needed other information. Thanks! |

Re: After a hard reset...
Don't know about the others, but on Verizon, you need to dial *228 after a hard reset. That should be all you need to do. The telco's system recognizes your phone's ESN, so it's already set up beyond that.
