Cprog.exe is important and has to be restarted.

Anyway, I cooked my own rom and I can say the problem has gone away. Yah.

this is one bug that drives me CRAZY .... there was a bug i experienced like this on my touch .. and they stated that it was related to spb programs, but that doesnt seem to be the issue now...

Phone app randomly opens
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock from 1 to 2

I'm running Sprint Rom and I have the exact same problem. Only way for me to get around it was to reboot phone. Any fixes yet?

i actually just returned my last tp for a similar reason

my last tp was built on 10/26 running stock rom and i had installed total commander, pic mail fix,internet sharing cab and nfl mobile....what it would do is when i slid out the keyborad it would freeze on the portrait today screen highlight phone in the bottom left corner and the switch to landscape with the dialer open everytime

it would also have trouble running opera...i would have to click on web search 2 or 3 times and have it load each time before it finally opened...it aslo wouldn't stay open if i switched to another program it would close out in the background

my newest tp was born on nov 6th and no problems so far

I did this hack (before) I started notcing the problem:

Disable Keyboard auto pop up when entering an app with a text field
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip]
"TurnOffAutoDeploy"=dword:00000001

I set it to 1 and sometime around there I started noticing the keyboard issue where it would start calling up contacts....

I am going to change this back to 0 and see if that helps.

Did anyone else do this hack and then start to notice the problem??

this is the problem I was refering to above. Did you do that hack as well? If so, thy setting it back to 0 and see if that helps...

I did a soft reset, the problem goes away.
If I make a phone call from the pro, the problem does not reoccur.
If I receive an incoming call, I talk for a lil bit, I hit the unhook key (hard key) twice to hang up and close the dialer, the problem is back.

From that point forward, anytime I slide the keyboard, the running application will change (sometimes showing the dialer, sometimes the landscape touchflo 3d screen, or something else but never stay on the screen its supposed too). Also as discussed above, simply using an application like Opera, that switches from landscape to portrait mode based on phone orientation, also causes the same problem. So it doesn't seem specifically tied to sliding the keyboard, but instead just switching from to portrait/landscape in general.

I am running the stock sprint rom.
I do not have the hack that matthew23 uses HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip ->"TurnOffAutoDeploy"=1, but tried it with no affect
I tried setting HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ShowTitleBarClock from 0 to 1 to 2, but it has no affect

I do have custom taskbar icons.
I have installed GoodThings2Life's tweak only cleanup.
But I've installed a bunch of other programs and reg hacks, so it could be any number of variables.

Anyone have a simpler setup that has this same problem? What additional programs and hacks did you install? If you have a shorter list, it may be easier to find the specific culprit.

i think it has to do with the taskbar icons then....i installed them and the hack above also and started noticing the problem....

This has already been figured out in the Custom Icons thread. Search for it in the TouchPro forums. Its always an active thread. It is bcuz of the custom icons. Specifically the speaker/volume icons. If u remove those icons and go back to stock the problem will go away. They are looking for a solution but for right now uninstalling the speaker/volume icons is the only option.
