Quick update for the masses:
I posted this in the other thread, but i'm now starting to see some bleed-off when i look at my hand... the cover is still black, but i have noticed if i hold it too long or if my palm get sweaty that i'll look like i just got fingerprinted lol...

no new cover is needed, and using the dye remover will not be effective in this case... if it were actually messed up somehow you would just re-dye again... but it's not it just needs to be buffed with a dark cloth... |

yes, you can, try mixing different amounts of black and red dye for optimal diamond colors. side effects you may want to consider. 1. close to boiling water. 2. might die (though you may get an award for dying, a darwin award).. 3. may not be an exact match. 4. shouldn't be expecting to get laid for a while. (but i guess if you're even considering dying yourself red, this shouldn't be much of a change)..

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
I decided to do this tonight. Couldn't seem to find it at Wal-Mart, but found it at Kroger's. I used the liquid form. Seemed to do the job just as well. I may need to apply it again though, maybe too much water in my mix? I also tried to coat a spare XBox Front Panel cover with this idea, didn't work out quite the same. I guess the XBox plastic isn't coaty enough.

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!
Jumped into this tonight myself, and dyed the my wifes and my TP's. Very nice turnout as you can see in the pics below. Full packet of dye and a small pan is all I used. The purple cover was only in the dye for less than 2 minutes... I tried 5 minutes first and it turned it black - so I redipped it in the actual black to make it deep black. Second try was the charm. Good tips here guys!
