There is a guy that posted a video back in this thread somewhere, but I don't think it showed the whole process.

You really don't need a video though, its so simple. Just get over the fear of messing up and go by the instructions I posted and you can't go wrong.
I think where most of the guys are messing up is by either getting the water too hot or not leaving the back in long enough. Don't get it boiling, but very close and I continued to stir for 15 min. It came out great.

PM me if you have questions.

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!

I just wanted to add another success story. I dyed the back and stylus of two diamonds. I followed the directions, worked perfectly. I did the navy blue. I think I put too much dye in, because it looks more black...which is ok. It's certainly better than the maroon/burgandy. A good buff job once done is the key to it looking really smooth. It's amazing how much better the phone looks!

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!

i do not understand why people keep saying to get the water near boiling but not boiling. DO NOT GET THE WATER NEAR BOILING AT ALL. GET IT JUST HOT ENOUGH TO MAKE SOME VAPORS RISE OFF THE WATER. iT SHOULD BE AS IF U RAN UR TAP ON HOT WATER AND JUST HOT ENOUGH WHERE U CANT HOLD UR FINGER IN FOR TOO LONG. THE REASON WHY PEOPLE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE COLOR RUBBING OFF AND FLAKING IS FIRST DUE TO THE RIDICULOUS HIGH HEAT THAT PEOPLE ARE USING AND ITS BREAKING DOWN THE DYE. ITS ALSO WHY PEOPLE R HAVING CRACKED AND WARPED COVERS. SECOND, IF UR NOT DOING BLACK THEN DONT PUT THE WHOLE PACKET OF COLOR IN. IT WILL LOOK ALMOST BLACK NO MATTER WHAT COLOR U R USING. USE COMMON SENSE PEOPLE THESE PACKETS ARE TO BE USED WITH A HUGE POT AND LOTS MORE WATER SO IT MAKES SENSE TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT IF UR USING A SMALL POT. DUH! IF PEOPLE TOOK THE TIME TO READ THE ORIGINAL DIRECTIONS BY XWEAPONX AND FOLLOW THEM THEN THERE WOULDNT BE ALL THESE PROBLEMS. iTS LIKE SOMEBODY WAS FOOLISH ENOUGH TO BOIL OR ALMOST BOIL THEIR WATER AND THEN PEOPLE STARTED TO RUN WITH IT LIKE A CHAIN REACTION. I HAVE DONE 9 COVERS AND ALL MY COLORS ARE THE CORRECT COLOR WITH NO BLEEDING OR WARPING AT ALL.

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!

Hey guys, anyone tried this on a Vogue yet? Iv got a Alltel vogue with the grey housing and battery cover(I think it looks the nicest of the black, white or red) anyway I bought this extended battery and cover= http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductD...BACY20HTCH-RBK
the cover is black and its got that rubbery feel. do you think the RIT dye grey color would cover the black or do you think the black will show through? or just not take at all.

Anyone not familier with Alltels coler see attached images

Re: A $1.48 goes a long way... Black Battery Cover!

So I'm looking at this, and will this work on a glossy back like on the VZW Touch Pros?

I'm thinking probably not since the dye isn't adhering to the glossy parts of the Sprint phones, but I was wondering if anyone had some alternate solutions. Maybe some Krylon Fusion?
