yeah but than you have to get the tape job perfect to look right..... if it does fade throughout some use than drop it in again since i didnt even use the whole amount of the dye :>

WRT tape, there is a nice groove between the case and camera lens insert. Looks like it would be easy to (1) lay down a piece of thin making tape, (2) run a fingernail or toothpick around the insert to press the tape into the groove, and (3) run a thin pointed Exacto knife around the groove to cut the excess tape. And I bet doing something similar with the USB port wouldn't be too hard either.

WRT fading, re-dying the case doesn't concern me as much as discovering that I have black dye on my hand just before a client meeting.

And ... most importantly ... I'm an a*al perfectionist (unfortunately) so want to do it "right" and "once" :=)

I've been waiting to see Alltel backs show up online, but am tired of waiting, will get bored over the next several weeks, so will probably try the Krylon.

I just re-soaked it with the water a little cooler, washed it with warmer water, then scrubbed the lens area before it dried, and it cleared right up. I'm very satisfied with the results, thank you so much xweaponx!
Whoa. That looks hot as hell! [pardon the pun!]

I think I'm going to have to have one for every color of the rainbow [This time it has nothing to do with being gay!]

Except for purple and yellow though. But in their place I'll add black and brown.

Can the Krylon Fusion be used to paint over the chrome sides? Or will I have to sand away the chrome first before it can be applied?

I don't know - have never used it, just done a spot of research. Fusion appears to be designed for plastics. Here's the mfgr link:

http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion_for_plastic/

They say it works for glass and metal, but that sounds like marketing BS to me!

I'll _guess_ that you need something else for chrome.

I'm willing to use my Touch Pro as a guinea pig but I first have to decide if I'm going with the Touch Pro or the Diamond...

Ah, yes - no right or wrong answer to that decision, which makes it all that much harder. I've had both the Mogul/Titan and Touch & Diamond - for me, it came down to a personal preference of thin vs. keyboard.

If I had a Pro, I'd want the chrome & back to both be black ...

Do we have a consensus on the camera lens? I no longer have the OEM plastic film on mine, OK to just throw it in?

for those who keep asking: camera lens is not affected by dyeing process at all.
