Re: Build Quality of the TP

I can grab a corner and rotate the face a little bit either way when the screen is closed. I would not call this an issue. Maybe it has a little play to prevent damage. The build quality otherwise is decent. At least the battery cover is not as flimsy as the Mogul.

It is nice to be rid of the memory issues I had on the Mogul for sure. I can run several programs and not have it lock up.

The thing that I would like to have changed is how the dpad and all of the other buttons are combined in the one pad. Althought it looks great, functionaly it leaves something to be desired. I would have liked seperate buttons on the front over the looks. Seems something like Art to me "Form over Function".

Thanks,
Zar

Re: Build Quality of the TP

On mine the cover almost won't come off it is that firm. The Mogul cover was horible to get off. I do also like all the memory, I am installing and running apps all the time now.

Re: Anyone's Touch Pro have lots of "Wiggle" in the closed position?

My 11/6 TP is solid. The screen wiggles very little compared to the original models (a friend of mine had one) and it has the little bumpers that keep the chrome next to the sliders from cracking. The only thing I've noticed is a little barely-perceptible bump in the chrome next to the bottom slider. So long as it doesn't get any worse, though, it'll be fine. The build quality on the later runs is much better.

I returned my original one because that bump became much larger w/ lots of cracking. Before they even opened the new one, they said that it would have the same bump, which it did. Apparently it's a common issue, and gets worse if you close it too hard. My original TP had the bumpers too.

Well, it hasn't gotten any worse since I bought it, and the bump is not exactly at the bottom slide - more by the bottom screw. I know the original TPs didn't have the slider bumpers, and the one my friend had like that actually shattered the chrome after a while. Here's to hoping it doesn't get any worse.

Re: Anyone's Touch Pro have lots of "Wiggle" in the closed position?

I just got a new Alltel one Friday, so should be current build and it wiggles. In fact I went to the store last night worried about this and had them pull a couple out and they all wiggle. So I guess unless it breaks seems normal.

This is what mine does. It also wiggles all around. I am especially nervous because I am using it on Verizon so I don't think i can just walk into the sprint store and get a new one. I also bought it on EBay. I am thinking i should buy a square trade warranty and maybe try to get a replacement. What do you guys think?

Re: Anyone's Touch Pro have lots of "Wiggle" in the closed position?

My 11/7 wiggles, (not much at all,) but does not line up when closed.

Also, my left-hand dpad is so raised that I can put my fingernail underneath it and pull it off the phone. It's not attached. I can see the LEDs underneath it...

I wish I could rip out all the internals and make my own phone out of cardboard--at least it would have a better build quality...

If you still have time to get the square trade warranty, I would do so as a backup plan. With phones I don't know if they replace the unit, or if they repair it or reimburse the money spent. But with my camera, I sent it in to an authorized repair center and they paid to refurbish it. Might be worth the $12...

Re: Anyone's Touch Pro have lots of "Wiggle" in the closed position?

My newer phone (unboxed yesterday) with a build date of 11/6 has much more play on thee bottom than my 10/16 build did. It's a pretty big difference, the older one was much tighter. I don't want to deal with sending back another one so I'll live with it. I'd be interested t hear f this is something they could fix at a Sprint store.
