Re: TP locks up during sleep / charge
I think its a WM problem because I had the same issue with my Touch and the replacement they sent. I haven't had that problem yet with my TP, but I suspect at some point I will. I think I might return my TP due to that earpiece issue though.

Re: TP locks up during sleep / charge
try going to settings, today, items and make sure today timeout is NOT checked. if it is uncheck it. This is something I have always done to my winmo phones since the q and seems to solve issues were the phone locks up over night.

Re: TP locks up during sleep / charge
OK, this is the second day night where my phone has not frozen. Maybe the hard reset fixed it?
What does today timeout do? |

I think the phone freezes while trying to do something with the today screen while the phone is in sleep mode. |

Re: TP locks up during sleep / charge
another thing i noticed with bsod is that it usually happens if you have a today screen plugin that pulls data from storage card.

Re: TP locks up during sleep / charge
I have had this happen to me 2x now, and Ive owned the phone for less then a week. My Diamond never did this. I also have the ALARM on for every weekday... Maybe Il turn it off. Im using the htc charger (actully the one I got from the diamond, so its the same as touch pro). I DONT have a today screen thats pulling from the memory card. I do NOT want to do a hard reset either... I hope sprint/htc gets a update out some what soon for these little bugs.

Re: TP locks up during sleep / charge
Sager hit close.
Having "active" applications on a storage card has often caused issues with nearly ALL pocket PC class devices. "active" means any apps that install and run resident when the OS loads, today plugins, things that install fonts, etc. You can load "single use" programs all you want on the storage card without issues because after you close (not minimize) them, they leave nothing running resident. The short reason for this is when the device "wakes up" and refreshes or calls those programs, the hardware that powers up/down the storage card hasn't done it's refresh and fully powered up that part of the hardware. As a long time PPC user, this has been the cause of many unexplained lockups. I'm not saying this is guaranteed the cause, but I've not had a single overnight lockup with any charger I use. |
