For the people that bought theirs from best buy:

I took mine in for several reasons (loose screen, crappy battery life, chrome chipping). They asked one question: Are you within the 30 day return period. I was on day 29 so they exchanged it, no questions asked!!

They even let me keep the original 1gig card, splitter cable and carrying case (I forgot to bring them in). Also, they let me keep the battery
