Re: Ring delay with Incoming Call

I have all of my mp3 ring tones in Windows\Rings directory as well.

I am running the TP with the stock rom but with tf disabled. I have my SPB stuff running.

I have lost calls with only voicemails showing up (letting me know i missed a call lol)

But usually it rings twice and thats it lol

So is there a definitive fix for this?

BTW Diplomat: which carrier do you have?

thanks!#!@

Don't know if this is off subject but a good FYI. If you disable the dialer skin you CANNOT use any of the programming codes. I confirmed this with a Sprint Tech. So If you get into the programming much you might not want to use the WM dialer.

True, but once you get your programming done it is not something you need to worry about very often.

I can't do all the functions with my dialer skin, but when I need to it's easy enough to swap back to the Diamond skin temporarily.

I was on the phone with the sprint tech and found out the hard way that you couldn't do the ## codes. I tried to switch back to the default dialer but it would never go back.

Needed to do a hard reset to get the default dialer back.

I'm guessing that a new phone wouldn't resolve the problem.

I just switched back to the stock skin just to make sure this wasn't a true statement. I deleted the new skin I had loaded & rebooted. When I restarted, it showed the WM default skin. I then opened Adv Config & set it to load the dialer skin. When I restarted again, the default Diamond dialer was back & working fine.

yea, swapping dialer skins fixes it but there are disadvantages to that also. If you switch to the WM default skin, it will ring almost instantly but it won't dial 911 & ## codes won't work (& it's butt-ugly).

I am using Paul DeGroots blue VGA dialer which is a pretty good compromise. It looks awesome & rings almost as fast as the WM skin.

Re: Ring delay with Incoming Call

I found a pretty simple work around for this issue. It's not a fix but it does the job. If you set the phone to vibrate and ring it will vibrate before you actually hear the the phone ring. It appears to vibrate at the same time the phone lights up then the ring follows. I noticed the delayed ring as well but it was never an issue for me because the vibration would always go off before the ring.
