Ring delay with Incoming Call

I have at least a 2-3 ring delay before the ringtone activates with Incoming calls on my TP. The delay occurs with OEM ringtones and ones I have made myself. The d-pad LEDs will flash 2-3 times before the ringtone is played.

On occasion the caller will hear my voicemail greeting before I get to answer the call. Very annoying, indeed.

I installed Diamond Tweaks to remove the delay but it did not work. After I used Diamond Tweaks I soft reset the device so the settings would stick.

I found an apparent fix at xda but you have to change your ringtones to WAV files. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258109

I really don't want to have to change the format of my ringtones.

Anyone else experience this?

Any ideas to eliminate this annoying delay?

Re: Ring delay with Incoming Call

1. If they're on storage card it'll do that.
2. It could be something service related. Call in to tech support and have them guide you through changing your slot cycle index
3. Make sure that you don't have conflicting 3rd party ring tone managers

report back if none of those things work

Thanks for the quick reply. This site is awesome!

I will move a ringtone from the storage card to phone memory to see if that helps.
If that doesn't work, I will change the slot cycle index.
I do not have 3rd party ring tone managers.

Were you able to reduce the delay with Diamond Tweaks?

I did a soft reset and went back into Diamond Tweaks and it appears the setting stuck but I will try it again.

Thanks.

Re: Ring delay with Incoming Call

I have the same problem. I tried both the Diamond Tweaks and XDA fixes, changed slot cycle to 0, switched to a WAV ringtone, and didn't really see any difference. Did a hard reset, no difference. Turned off TF3D and saw some improvement.

Since Darren saw an improvement with Diamond Tweaks, I think I'll try another hard reset, followed by TF3D off, followed by Diamond Tweaks, followed by soft reset, and see how it goes.

Re: Ring delay with Incoming Call

I have exactly the same problem- it helped slightly when I turned off touchflo- this is definitely an annoying problem- I hate it when I see the phone flashing on my desk and count the seconds until it rings

What folder on the TP did you move the ringtone(s) to?

I tried to move mine into the My Documents folder but the delay is still there.
