I understood the instructions. Had the phone OFF! Please don't talk to me like I'm illiterate and can't read instructions.

Everytime I did the volume down plus enter plus power button (WHILE THE PHONE WAS PHYSICALLY OFF) it went toa screen that had red white and green lines covering the screen with info about the phone RAPH800 etc, etc...

Anyhow, I just hard reset through the phone by clearing the storage.

Re: Hard Reset??

for some reason it seems like the TP wants to be a bastard for the first hard reset. after I got it to work (had to have the phone on hold all the buttons and push soft reset to finally get it to work) the power off power on while holding the buttons method started working for me.

Re: Hard Reset??

if you see the htc screen you need to start over. try holding the buttons and then using the stylus to push the soft reset button (all while the phone is on) vol down + enter + power push the softreset ( I had to use my mouth for the stylus) holding the buttons the whole time till an all grey screen appears.

It sounds like you do not have the center button depressed all the way. The screen you are referring to sounds like bootloader. The sequence to go into bootloader is the same as a hard reset minus the center button.

However I understand your pain, I consider myself a very intelligent person yet it took me 30 minutes to successfully complete a button hard reset.

Personally I believe that the button sequence actually matters. Most people say it doesnt, however when I did it a certain way it worked.

Try this: Power Phone off. IN THIS ORDER hold Vol Down then Center Button, then power button, then hit the reset button on the bottom.

When I did it in that particular order it worked. Be sure that the center button is fully depressed.

I'm an adult and not talking to you like you're illiterate. I was just making sure that you CLEARLY understood the instructions, which obviously you don't if it still won't hard reset. I struggled myself with the same problem 2 days ago and finally got it. I was ONLY trying to be helpful...

The phone was off, I tried it, it didn't work. I just hard reset through the phone instead and that worked for what I needed. Thanks for your help anyway.

I would like to add to this. I have a Diamond and with my Mogul I did what Tower listed above. I attempted this on my sprint and I was unable to connect to the Internet and the update profile option no longer worked. I tried every fix and nothing worked. I did a hard reset and let the Sprint customizations install and everything was back to normal. Except I lost 25 MB of space, haha...
