Got IT!!!!! HTC Touch Pro for spint from Best buy - Page 32

not to brag yal but I got my touch pro today finally its so awesome it was 299.99 wit 2 yr contract and I asked about 20% off and he just looked at the website b/c wasnt sure and took 20% off and it was 239.99 but with tax was 255.59

Okay, stopped by Best Buy Westwood. Took 10 minutes for the two mobile reps to even ask me if I needed help. Finally, when they asked, I told them "Yes, I was wondering if you have the HTC Touch Pro in?" The guy that asked me if I needed help said, "Can't sell it until Sunday." My response, "Really?...Okay, but do you happen to have a demo?" He looks at his associate and asks, then looks at me and says, "Oh, yeah. We have one right over there!"

While I was waiting for them to ask me if I needed to help, I happened to notice that there was a Diamond on display, but no Touch Pro. I looked at him and said, "This one? (while pointing at the Diamond)" Looks at me and says, "Yeah, that's the Touch Pro?" My answer, "Uh, nope. That's the Diamond." It gets worse, his response was ****y, "You sure?" I said, "100% positive. Touch Pro is the silver one with the QWERTY keyboard. His response, "Hesitation...Uh, yeah, we don't have that."

Okay, so I'm trying to make logical sense of this. I'm thinking that these are the answers I could come up with:

1) He was really dumb and didn't know his product
2) He didn't want to have to do 1 more sale before closing (i.e. too lazy)
3) He knew which phone I was talking about, but was holding whatever they have in stock for his "friends/family"

No skin off my back. I was just going in to take a look at it, see what it would cost me through Best Buy. If it would be the full discount, I would've bought it on the spot. If not, I wait for EVP.

Anyhow, is this how all Best Buy Mobile peeps are? I would've been an easy sale/no-sale...Do they even want my business?...LOL.

Just thought I'd share my story. For those of you that want to know which one it was, it was Best Buy in Westwood near UCLA.

man good to know that its not just me... i did a hard rest thinking that best buy guy screwed up on something while activating the phone. no matter what i did just kept getting that error!

I got mine!!! I wish I could give a big thanks to the entire forum.

My local BB was clueless. They did tell me which stores in the area were selling them. I tracked one down about 30min from my home. And the best part, the guy rung me up as a new customer which put the price at $279 - 20% = $224

They have one left.

Now I want to stay up and figure this all out tonight.

Hey drexappeal,

I stopped by the Pico/Sawtelle BBY *and* the one in Culver City. I had experiences similar to yours in both. No early sales, and no reservations/rainchecks either.

Hope we can get ours Sunday or later...

I am betting it is this one.

My local best buy was extremely helpful, plus there seemed to be another person there more excited about the TP than I..... he was just full of info!

749.99 with 526.00 Package price discount.

fyi, I don't know if this has been covered before but BB sells their own insurance plan for $7 bucks a month. I didn't ask if I could still get Sprint's insurance plan. Main difference was BB would not replace a lost or stolen phone.
