After using the Touch for quite a while, I can safely say that I want a keyboard.

I can also say, that for the most part, I will just use the on-screen keyboard (PCMKeyboard--for me.)

For the Touch, the reason I'm not TOO fond of the on-screen, is because the phone is too slow for it... Keyboard responses are not fast enough... there is some sluggishness.

The iPhone is much, much better in terms of response...

Both phones suffer from not being able to read the damn screen when you are using the on-screen... Why can't someone make a transparent on-screen keyboard? sheesh...

I have friends with Moguls, and it's a pain to pull the keyboard out and wait for the screen to rotate--especially when you could just pound out a sentence or two on the on-screen.

If I was writing a 10-page essay, I'd switch to the hardware keyboard--but then again, how often would you do that? That's what a full-sized PC is for...

If the Diamond had an SD slot, I'd be fairly tempted to pick one up. I might anyways, because I don't really store music on my SD card... I only have a 4GB in my Touch... all I use it for is storing ring tones, pictures, and background images for S2U2, (that randomly change.)

I've had my Mogul for a while now. I love the hard keyboard. I use the on screen keyboard for a few things, but I text a lot and do not have the time to pound out a letter by letter text. So, it works for me. If you're more accustomed to the OSKB, then more power to you. But I love my HKB.

Don't get me wrong, the HKB is great, except it's not implemented properly, it seems... I don't want to wait 2-3 seconds for the screen to refresh every time I go back and forth... which would be quite often.

Also, when you use the HKB, you still "pound out a letter by letter text."

The main difference is the tactile response and the fact that you can use two thumbs on most HKBs..

I just hope that the Touch Pro is better with refresh times, etc... then I won't have much to gripe about... the Mogul was TERRIBLE when it first came out... I assume that custom ROMs have worked on this in the meantime...

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Slower processor and less memory. Don't get me wrong, the memory is still better than the Titan, but its basically a regular Touch with a keyboard (and some more software "upgrades" and bugs)

Also, I wonder if the device will be available through telesales before its launch date in stores like they do with many other devices?

Re: Raphael/touch Pro Comin To Sprint??

If the pricing that was posted regarding the Touch Diamond (going to be sold at Best Buy) is correct, I'm thinking the Touch Pro (Herman / Raphael / whatever it's gonna be called) is going to be close to that $1K mark that the Touch Pro in Europe is selling for.

I hope to hell there will be discounts. I'm not gonna be like the people that spent $1K for the iPhone when it first came out, only to see the pricing not stay and now the $199 that the new one is selling for currently!
