Should be a gem in PPCs! Problem is might not be available soon with SERO 500

I been on Mogul since last 3 weeks and it really rocks! Only problems are:
- Less Ram
- A tad slow
- Small screen
- would have been nicer if there was a way to dial one handed from contacts

WM6 issues:
- auto active sync every 5 mins

FYI you're backwards. From the only source of actual dates for sprint (engadget) it said sept for raphael nov for diamond....

and what does SERO have to do with it?

From this point forward, anyone wishing to upgrade their device, unless they pick a basic dumbphone, will have to have a Simply Everything plan to get the upgrade discount and mail-in rebates.

That said, Raphael is supposed to come out first... Sprint is in dire need of a Windows Mobile Pro device with more than 64MB of RAM. At least we're not on T-Mo with the Wing though... I have a buddy at work that has one. Thing has like a total of 40MB of storage space and less free RAM than my Mogul!

Its set in stone. But this is Sprint, so things can definitely change at a moment's notice. But from everything I've heard so far, they want to get everyone on a high-data usage device onto Simply Everything plans.

Unlike the Instinct though, it hasn't been said that you can't get the phone without the SE plan, just that you can't get any mail-in rebates on it. Equipment discount of 150 dollars should still apply but since I'm betting this device will be 599 retail, 150 off is next to nothing.

From what their Instict requirements were, either a "Shared voice, text, message, and data plan OR a Simply Everything plan." but that is a consumer device, and it would really cause people to be pissed off if half the selling points were charging an arm and a leg. I think the iPhone does that for the same reason.

I got an email, from HTC. I asked them about the touch pro, and all I get is the standard answer. Diamond Touch released first, Then Touch Pro...... America this year after Europe.....

And this was the most interesting thing they said...... I asked them about the wm 6.1 update..... They said sprint would have to get with them, which they have no knowledge of them doing, and they do not know of the mogul will get an update............. Oh don't you love Corp America B.S. responses

The Touch Diamond is the one that will be competing with the iPhone, not the Touch Pro.

You are quoting new contract pricing...

The iPhone sans-contract price hasn't been set yet but will definitely be in the 500-600 range. And either way, this is a much more powerful and versatile device than the iPhone.

I call Bull! I should know, just look at who I work for. The only phone that we have required anyone to move to the simply everything plan to purchase is the instinct. That was a marketing decision to follow suit with att's iphone spesific plans. It will not be required to move to the simply everything plan to buy "anything but a dumbphone".

That being said. The diamond WILL come out before the touch pro. How do I know this you may ask. I holding one in my hands right now. Just to end all of the speculation about which is comming first. Its the Diamond. peroid, end of story, game over. If you dont have good facts dont just make up something to seem like you have any clue about what is going on. I promise to bring only solid facts, not speculation. I would hope most of this community will do the same. Rumors just piss people off

Lol the iphone 3g are 200 for 8gb and 300 for 16gb
and the plans are going to be 10 bucks more what they are now

This is the first Sprint branded phone I've seen. Any guesses as to how long till the pic makes it to Engadget? Very cool. No front mount camera of course. Oh well.

More Pics/Videos/Impressions please!

Any word on official release dates for Diamond/Pro?

Edit: It also looks like they did away with the animated clock. I kinda liked the retro, flip-down, rolodex thing they had going.

I also would have rather seen the touch pro out first. However I dont mind waiting because It looks kick ***.

To answer 2 questions I saw come up already.

Yes this is an official sprint device, it is currently in the test group at sprint, so there are a few of us that have them. It is not a gsm phone with the sprint logo, what the hell would be the point in that.

Yes the phone still has 3.2mp camera, and I gotta say, It looks ****ing good.

just so you guys know phonearena.com broke today that the touch pro and diamond will be released on not only sprint but verizon also...no release dates yet but all the rumors i've seen point to fall of this year!!!

It is not - it hasn't even hit the FCC yet, while the Touch Pro hit yesterday. We're either going to see the Touch Pro first or both of them will drop around the same time.

And I'm bummed that they changed the clock too. Hopefully that's a user-customizable interface component.

Sorry that I jumped all over you about the device but 11 posts doesn't really give you much credibility.
