Best Buy, Radio Shack gearing up for Touch Diamond launch on Sprint?

It seems that Sprint's letting the cat out of the bag on its upcoming Touch successor -- within its trusted circle of retailers, anyway. We've now received some juicy morsels of information suggesting that both Best Buy and Radio Shack have been told to expect shipments of the MP6950 Touch Diamond in the next few weeks, with the big blue box tentatively expecting stock on August 17 (we think they're fooling themselves there, but it'd be nice) and the Shack expecting a more realistic-sounding September 2 launch. Along with the Touch Pro, the Touch Diamond should go a long way toward revitalizing Sprint's smartphone lineup at a time when the carrier can pretty much use every little bit of help it can get. In fact, we think we'll hook this up to a SERO plan and... ah, wait, never mind .

If this is true this should be good new for the touch pro coming out on sprint and soon! I hope

It might be official the Touch Diamond might be available this month. But no word on the Touch Pro.

An article in The China Post about HTC’s market position points to some interesting information on upcoming phones of the Taiwanese manufacturer. Cheng Hui-ming, Chief Financial Officer, is quoted to say that an HTC handset with Google's Android OS will be released in the fourth quarter, and wireless operators are showing more interest. Also, the yet unofficial CDMA-variant of the Touch Diamond is claimed to start selling through Sprint this month. It has already scored the FCC approval so we can just hope this will really happen.

Man, I can't wait for this phone to get released. My 3rd party rep already sent me an email to tell me that he'll set me up as the 1st order (and he'll be ordering immdiately after me) from my corporation.

Now it's just a waiting game until they hopefully release the phone to corporate business accounts first (prior to national release)!

The front page of Best Buy's weekly ad has ALL current PDA phones on sale! I wonder if that means that they're gearing up for new product sooner than later.

Yes I'm really hoping that it comes out on sprint. And soon I allmost had my mogul a year do yall think I'll be able to upgrade to it?

Dear god, why? So you can have a bumpy back on your phone, that won't sit riht on your desk, and it thicker than it needs to be? Ditching that diamond back is the best news I've heard about the Pro.

Yea i work for Sprint and I know for a fact we are getting the touch pro i just dont know when....Prablably 4th quater....

I don't know, I seem to remember the Titan randomly showing up online through Sprint for ordering, and wasn't in stores for at least 2 more weeks after that. I might be wrong, but I seem to remember it, and the Titan wasn't expected to release for another couple of months at that point.
