Yea, I've always liked my HTC phones. They're just not releasing many Android phones with full QWERTY keyboards tho. I figured they would've been the leader, but it seems HTC is sticking with keyboardless phones... Which I'm sure are cheaper to produce, and have less physical hardware that can fail...

cheaper and less parts to replace right? TP1!

I am weary of samsung as well. I've had a few of their free clamshells and they were uh, "ok." But others swear by them. HOPEFULLY, the epic, being top shelf will be good.

Re: Way early EVO! *does cartwheel*

i haven't had any problems with the phone. it will slow down once every few days, and i just close some apps manually or restart the device. no random freezing, and i've thrown a good 40 apps on it. i like the stock look, but i went ahead and rooted once they figured out 2.2. all in all, i'm still trying to get used to the lack of keyboard, (swype works well, but there are no arrow buttons or hw d-pad) but everything else is great. i like how the epic looks, but there is and will be so much more community support for the evo.

That's awesome. Enjoy the phone. Except that your phone is probably 2.2 and at this time you are not able to root it yet. I'm still waiting myself for the root.

evo is nice. lack of keyboard, sh!tty video quality, n the damn fm radio never worked was 3 major reasons to return it before the 30th day. next test is the epic in 17 days!
Don't know what happened with your phone but my fm radio works just fine and it works even better after the 2.2 update. Lack of keyboard isn't that big of a deal with the new keyboard from 2.2 and swype. I'm faster with swype than with a physical keyboard. Although I still like the keyboard on my tp2, but size of the phone is better without the keyboard.
What do you mean by bad video? I haven't had any problems on my evo with any videos. The only problem I see is the video not playing at 60fps only 30fps. But that can be fixed with rooting. Plus most people can't tell the difference with the frames per second anyway.
Hopefully your epic won't give you problems.
My evo has been good to me except for battery life. I plan on fixing that with a new htc phone. I don't think htc can fix battery issue on evo.

The root has been out for a couple of days... you basically exploit, downgrade, root, then flash a rooted 2.2 rom.
