Re: Great Community, Bad Phone
I don't know if you're getting your replacement hardware directly from sprint or as an insurance replacement but i know when i had trouble Asurion tried to send me a "refurbished" model. Once i figured out what they were trying to pull i put an end to that BS right away. Try specifically refusing to accept anything but a brand new phone. Either, you'll get a brand new TP or if they don't have brand new stock you might get lucky and end up with an upgrade.
Also, don't put up with dealing tier 1 support. Be a pain in the ass until you get bumped up to tier 2. They have alot more decision making power and are alot more likely to actually solve the problem. All that advice is moot since it seems you're switching devices but i thought i'd toss that out there in case your mind isn't quite made up and you've still got some fight left over the issue.

Re: Great Community, Bad Phone
Glad to hear you got the Moment - I think you'll be happy with it.
I have been disappointed with this device lately... I don't know why, it just doesn't seem to run like it used to. I have yet to get any replacements, I'm worried they'll just send me some awful refurbs like they always do (Asurion sent me a refurb Mogul that was DOA, which is how I got a spankin' new TP for free so long ago...) I'm also glad to hear you appreciate the community that has grown and evolved around these devices. This community is invaluable, and I have definitely gotten much more out of these devices because of places like this. |

Re: Great Community, Bad Phone
Thanks for the advice. I know I could have fought harder with Sprint but I just wanted to be done with the frustration. The replacement Touch Pro they sent was a refurb. I had to spend $200 to get the Moment, which isn't fair, but switching carriers would have been more expensive in the long run. I'm loving the new Android device so far. Typing on it now. Very responsive. Will take some adjusting though.
