Re: PRL questions

Step 1: update the USB driver on the desktop for the Omnia:

http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=21459&p=null

In short, update the driver for the Modem from C:\Program Files\Samsung\Drivers4.40.

Step 2: QPST will now recognize the Omnia. Open the QPST Configuration and add the phone port.

Step 3: Open the Service Programmer. Select the phone (Unknown 214 or specfic listed name). You will get a message

"The model selected is unknown. Please select a base model from the list of known phone models:".

Choose the last model "SURF6100-ZRF6155".

Hope this helps, GL

You can read an Omnia's MSL code with CDMA Workshop.

I have installed Samsung_MCCI_WHQL_USB_Modem_Driver_4.40.7_v1.6 and rebooted my pc. When i go to control panel, sytem, hardware, device manager, there is no drivers installed named Samsung. Example, in com ports, there is no com port set to Samsung. I also did not found "data connection" in omnia's settings, so i cannot change it to "internal data call" prior to make the omnia available for QPST. Correct me if i am wrong.

Re: PRL questions

I have called Samsung Canada today, and with no surprise, they do not want to provide any PRL to custumers directly and also they refuse to link people with technicians. So Once again, Bell leave people alone with their HTCs. i am very discouraged about HTC support from Bell.

You will need a program like QPST, CDMA WS, BitPin. QPST is the easiest. Drivers for the phone and if your using Vista/7 you will need additional drivers. From there you will need to read the device with QPST and then save it to file. Then you will have some odd files QCN,rl0,rl1 etc there you will find your PRL.

Here is a small picture tutorial on how to connect to QPST. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...2&d=1265073951

Re: PRL questions

I am in a similar situation. I'm trying to get a Touch Pro 2 to run on Bell, and need to find the PRL and other NAM settings for Bell. I've got the network ID number, 16390, which Bell is using in Nova Scotia. I've added all the other Bell numbers I've been able to find, for PEI, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and 6 others, so I'm still missing some of them.

So far, I managed to get past the MSL. There are tools that will take your ESN and give you a MSL, but the TP2 only lists the MEID. If you go into ePST, though, you can "READ ONLY" and find an ESN you can use in GetSPC. That did part of the trick for me.

I'm currently using a Motorola A455 "Rival", and haven't been able to find out about data provisioning. There's a web site that sends a text message with the proper parameters, that the phone should automagically install, but it won't send to a Bell phone number. I have a plan that includes unlimited data, but haven't been able to use it because I can't get to data provisioning. I hope to avoid that with the TP2, and want to have things ready to go in advance. One odd thing Im experiencing is *-numbers and #-numbers (like *905 and #611) don't work.

So, if you have a Bell PRL, even if it's not the most recent, it's going to be better than what I have now. Please point me towards a copy, if it's not a problem.

Thanks in advance,
