PRL questions
Hi all, this is my first post.
I have searched alot on this web forum and i still got few questions. First thing, i got to mention this is the best place to get information about CDMA phones. Before i go with my questions, i got to explain my problem. I have a Bell Mobility Canada HTC Touch Pro witch i like. I live in an area where it is Telus Mobility who provides the towers for CDMA 1X EVDO service, it's a deal between those two carriers here in Canada. In August 2009, Telus Mobility have updated their PRL on their towers, after that, most of Bell EVDO phones got their PRL updates. ALL Telus Mobility got their PRL updates. NO HTC phones at Bell got their PRL updates since Bell has stopped selling HTC phones since one year pretending they got too much problems with them. I would like to upgrade my PRL to let my phone re-enabled to EVDO speeds, witch i lost for crawling 1X now for almost 7 months. Bell told me there will NOT be PRL updates for Touch Pro, witch is a biiig lack in service from Bell. I don't want to pay too change my phone, because, maybe that's what they want. EVERY new CDMA EVDO phones sold by Bell right now got a PRL that allows EVDO speeds on Telus towers except all Bell HTC phones. I know we can extract a PRL from another phone and then install/upgrade it to another phone. My friend just bought a Bell Samsung Omnia CDMA EVDO witch works full EVDO on every Telus towers. That means he got a PRL that allows his phone to go full EVDO on Telus towers. Now, here comes my questions: 1- Can i extract the PRL from his Omnia? 2- If yes, can i use it to upgrade my Touch pro? 3- If no, is there any body who got a Telus Mobility Canada HTC Touch Pro with the latest PRL (seems to be 9085) who can extract the PRL for me to check if my Bell Touch Pro will get EVDO speed? Thank you in advance for helping me out. |

2- Yes you can 3- PRL's are not device dependent only carrier specific. To pull a PRL from a Samsung you may need to use one of the following QPST, Samsung PST, Unicmda or CDMA WS. You will also need a data cable and drivers for the Samsung. Samsung PST may be your best best. |

Re: PRL questions
Ok, i gave up on trying to pull the PRL from Samsung Omnia, i am a noob unable to connect Omnia to my PC. I've find few Bell's PRL on this forum, i tried them all and still stuck with 1X speed. Now i am back with Bell 31402. Any chance someone got 31406 from Bell?
