Did you ever go back to 2.0.1? I haven't had problems with those builds in respect to GV in a loooong time. As I recall, 2.1 did not play nice with GV however. Didn't really play nice with much of anything, I should probably update and see if it's improved :D

Not sure what you did, wipe the card and start fresh. I like to organize my builds into folders, I have a 2.0.1 folder, a 2.1 folder and a 2.1w/sense folder. Then I just modify the startup.txt for each (it's the relpath= setting btw) so it knows where to look. Helps me keep all that mess separate. You may want to go that route, because before I would just wipe the SD card every time I wanted to try a different release. Started getting kinda ridiculous.

Yea, you seem to be aware of the RAPH500 issue with development... there doesn't seem to be anyone actively developing Android for that device, and as far as I know the kernel is still in the doldrums... back in September I believe is when that tree splits and ends for the RAPH500.

As far as the ROM you have installed, don't worry about RAM free in WinMo. It really has nothing to do with Android, once you run HaRET.exe, Linux/Android takes over your phone, and WinMo has nothing to do with the hardware at that point. With that said, I do believe the RAPH500 is also crippled compared to the 800 in both the RAM and ROM dept. Not sure why VZW chose to do that...

That's the RAM Free according to Android... tops 38 MB free.

I fixed the problem of APM settings going byebye, but unfortunately, I have yet to get the data to connect, although voice connects (which speakers don't work so :/). I am wondering how you have to set up the #777 settings in APM and whatnot.

Well you should be able to add the APN no problem, but I'm on the RAPH800. Like I said before, development in the RAPH500 department is lagging. So much so that I don't think they've opened up the other channel for RAM within the 500, so that is why you are so low on RAM. There was a development (2 months ago?) that added a second bank of RAM to Android's available pool. That helped a lot of issues, and probably never made it to the 500's kernel.

BTW, what package are you using for the 500? The last kernel I found for the 500 was from 09/2009...

You can add htc_battery_smem.fake=1 to your cmdline -- it'll make Android think it's always plugged in, and stop giving you warnings. It'll also make it impossible to tell if charging is working or not when you plug it in, but that's probably a minor price to pay.

Yeah, as arrrghhh said, your kernel is from before when the second RAM bank was enabled, AND the raph500 has less memory, so that's not at all surprising (iirc that was about how much free RAM showed up on raph800 builds before the 2nd bank worked, too). I don't know how much better it would be if the new kernel worked, but I assume it'd be some improvement.

Someone here (Weapondrift) is going to try to send me his RAPH500 once he switches over to the Incredible at the end of the month; so, hopefully, we'll have some movement on that kernel in the near future.

Wipe the card, download the AIO in the first post. Done.

Well, maybe extract it on your card... done.

OK, just checked, the standard xdandroid build reports Firmware Version: 2.1 in Settings > About Phone.

It's not. I wouldn't worry too much about what it reports; just stick to how it works.
