Weird. When I did what you said, the opposite just occured. The taskbar and softkeys are skinned properly, but now the main screen just shows the standard black animated weather default background image...

Funny thing is the file is 1077 KB so I know the background has to be there somewhere...

Yeah, now just go to set the wallpaper, and choose weather wallpaper, select one. Maybe soft reset. Should show up!

I think weather wallpaper is only a choice in Sense 2.5. Since I'm on 2.1 when I go to the settings -> wallpaper it normally asks if I want to set the default wallpaper (which enables the weather animations). But I already had that set. I went into the wallpaper settings anyway to make sure the default was selected (it was) then I tried to change it back to another wallpaper (un-enabling the default wallpaper). Still didn't work. Soft reset. Then I went back into wallpaper settings and set the default wallpaper again. Soft reset again. Still didn't work.

The files I've used on this ROM that have worked have been around ~900 KB, yet this most recent one is over 1,000 so I'm thinking something is off

Attached are all the windows in the HDWall program. Let me know if you see something wrong with any of my settings (the config screen is attached to my other post)

Yeah, that's right, you should just be able to select Default wallpaper after installing and it should set it.

Your settings look fine, I think. Pretty small pics. The size also depends on the resolution of the image. It wasn't that much different, I don't think. However, with that size image, you may have issues I have not seen. You may want to try cropping that picture to 480 x 800 ahead of time, then use it to make your HDwall. Or else, you need to choose autocrop and resize, for it to set it properly on that image size.

Only other thing to try, is with just one of the Sense boxes checked and not the other and vice versa. Although, I seem to recall making ones that worked with both checked. You do not have BG4all installed, I'm sure. Right?

No, I haven't installed BG4all. And those pictures I was using were 800X800 so that they would look the same portrait and landscape. But I do use the autocrop tool first (in fact, I had clicked on the autocrop button before I took those screenshots so that you could see what part of the pic was being selected in the screenshots I posted above).

I also tried making the cab with just the first "sense" box checked only and had the same result of only the taskbars being skinned.

I don't know what to do at this point...

I finally got it. I was doin everything right except the destination file. I had the cab wallpapers goin to the desktop, apparently it doesnt create the needed jpeg if the picture your using, is in the same location as the destination your cab is goin to. I think at least. I swear i tried for a week, and was gettin taskbars only. and just now, i made a folder called test cab wallpapers and directed them there, and it now works. thanks for your help santod! Iknew it was somethin stupid.

Glad you finally got it! Looks like I should add a little more info to my guide. I have always just selected NO, when it asks if I want to use the Desktop as the output Directory. It then automatically puts all files into the HDwalls directory. I did not really realize that having the original image in the same directory as the output, would cause such a negative effect. Thanks for all your trials and tribulations. As I always chose not to use Desktop, I would not have known that issue. Thanks! Again, I'm glad you got it working now. Have fun!

I'm having the same problem as Eschelon above where the taskbar and softkeys aren't getting skinned.

Anybody know how to fix this?

I finally figured it out.

Turns out that saving the cab to a folder other than the HDWall folder you unzipped the program to will result in the cab not including the taskbar and softkey .png images contained in the HDWall folder. I was saving my cabs to a seperate folder called "cabs" so the cab creator in HDWall was looking for the taskbar and softkey .png files in the "cab" folder (where they didn't exist) instead of the HDWall folder (where they DID exist).

Santod, thanks again for all your earlier help. You may wish to add my findings to your write-up on page one to prevent anyone else from seeing this problem
