Re: MS Bluetooth Stack in ROM upgrades
well, it seems that the word have NOT completely filtered over here...
it would appear that most, if not, ALL issues that was connected to bluetooth functionality was connected to WM 6.1. I believe, that most of the ROMs that are 6.5 and above are NOT having issues with bluetooth. I'm running a custom ROM cooked in Calkulin's Kitchen WM6.5.3 build 28005. My bluetooth function is perfect... MS Voice Command: no problem, no lag...works the way it was supposed to Tell Me: the same installer that was ripped from the Intrepid(?) that works...the touchscreen works better now that its not running on 6.1 Still a bit quirky...only functioning on the phone mic and speakers. SMS: Announces when its supposed to...just make sure you have the settings correct. HANG UP: YES, I can hang up a call using bluetooth buttons! NO LAG TIME. File sharing/sending: I don't use it, so I can't comment. Lastly...don't call out the chefs. Those folks are trying to better the community in their way by providing all of us these custom ROMs. We ask, we suggest...but at no point in time should anyone demand anything from them. Most of them do this because they love it...and trust me...its not easy (i'm learning) If you don't like what they included OR excluded in their ROMs....go get yourself a kitchen...and cook a ROM for yourself

Re: MS Bluetooth Stack in ROM upgrades
Hi amw1972, there are some people who have never experienced BT problems (like the hangup issues) at all. My guess is that 6.5 does not correct most of the bugs in Widcomm as 70% of the TP2 users here are claiming it has bugs http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=96695 It all seems dependent on the BT peripheral

Re: MS Bluetooth Stack in ROM upgrades
Juggs always to the rescue. By the way I did donate to your Sprint TV project when you first started it. That was some great work! I think I need to try your ROM next. I'm currently on MM.

well, I am definitely not an expert...but I don't think anyone here can definitively say yes its the BT Stack OR no its not. I can only convey thru my experience and my reading of other's experiences. The current ROM I'm on, is NOT the first 6.5 or higher that I've used on my TP2. However, this and Juicy's Releases that I have ran since the HSPL...have "rectified" the big BT issues (no hang up, MSVC not playing well, etc.) I do agree that this is an issue that needs to be addressed. It should be HTC, not the chefs here (per the OP.) I emailed HTC awhile back of my concern of the issue...and they basically brushed me off saying that they are NOT responsible with the compatibility of third party bluetooth devices. If I had a 15 dollar bluetooth I bought at a swap meet...I wouldn't be upset. I'm using a Jawbone Prime (anniversary present) and much like most of folks with BT connectivity thru their vehicles...you'd expect a high end device to WORK. Not having to mess around with anything...to include custom ROMs. So whether its the stack or the O/S ver....bottom line is that between HTC and Microsoft...someone f**ked up...and they're just wishing for the issue to go away. |

Assuming you are on Verizon? I am on Sprint with a stock rom and use ICS via bluetooth with a Windows 7 laptop without issue. Pretty awesome how easy and reliable it is. And battery life is better when using bluetooth vs. Wifi for tethering. |
