Re: Strangeness...

OK I thought that the end key was the power button...but I held down the sleep button on top while pressing talk and end, and nothing happened.

Re: Strangeness...

Ok dude, If I am going to try to help you, you have to think clearly on this, and also know the difference between power and send.

Prior to doing this,
get your phone into bootloader mode. Actually for all flashing steps your phone must be in Tri-Color Boot Mode. Google HARD-SPL and you will see what it should look like.

If you phone will not go into boot loader mode, try to use the same method's that are used for phone that correlate to the HSPL
you flashed to. So if you flashed a VZW HSPL, then use the bootloader method for that phone.

1) Dowload and extract through WinRAR the Verizon TP2 Stock ROM Shipped.
2) Remove the RUU_signed.nbh from the extracted directory, and place it somewhere else on your PC for now.
3) Rename the the SPL_signed.nbh to RUU_signed.nbh and then run the ROMUpdateUtility.
4) Ensure it flashes.
If it was successful, let your phone reboot, it will still not start up correctly so pull the battery out and get it into bootloader mode again.
If successful then.
Rename the existing RUU_signed.nbh to it's old name of SPL_signed.nbh.
Now copy the RUU_signed.nbh to the directory you extracted the shipped ROM to.
It will be the larger .nbh
Now with the phone in bootloader mode, Tri-Color screen, try to run the ROMUpdateUtility again, but this time it will be flashing the
OS to the phone. It will pause significantly on 12%, just let it run. If 30 minutes elapses, it's failed.
Try again.
Let the phone reboot.
You should be good to go.

Edit:If none of this works, you may want to try running the SPL Relocker for the phone that correlates to the HSPL you accidentally flashed to. What can it hurt ? Your phone is already messed yup. Then try these steps again.

Actually.. No. Since the original TP unlocker had overwrite protection on it, you may possibly need to relock the accident, being the TP HSPL is not for the TP2 HSPL. Maybe not. But since we dont know when the real unlocker is going to be here, and this guys phone is out of commission, it's imperitive that he get his phone working again, in order to flash the "real unlocker for the TP2" when it's released. Since we dont know the exact methods for the overwrite of the flash memory, it's best we just get the phone back to stock so that in the event of a an actual unlock failure that we are able to eliminate a few variables for failure.

Re: Strangeness...

Thanks Marcus; that was very helpful! But there is one problem: I can't seem to enter bootloader mode, so I need to start with the other steps you listed. The problem is: how do I flash when I can't seem to sync the phone to the computer? I don't even know if it's on; the screen is dark.

Re: Strangeness...

Well if you cant get t into bootloader mode, I'm not sure there is anything that can be done.. This is Flash101, know thy bootloader.
Try this,
Put the SPL_Signed.nbh onto a memory card and rename it to RHODIMG.nbh
Pull the battery out and wait a few seconds.
Put the battery back in.
Now hold the volume down and then hold the power button down until it shows a different screen other than the black screen. It should detect the .nbh image on the storage card. I dont believe that your bootloader is gone. It's there your just not entering the correct combo of buttons or your not holding the power button in. I flashed a all kinds of bootloaders to my Touch Pro2 and was able to get it back. Ones I hacked, and some that were incorrect. Maybe this kind of stuff just isnt for you.

Re: Strangeness...

Still not working. Just a blank screen. I've flashed more ROM's than I can remember, and I've hacked my old Tilt as well as 3 Fuzes. I've never had any trouble, but then again I've never made a mistake before.
