On another vein, I just found out from Vodafone they won't let me add minutes to my subscription unless I am physically present in the UK.They will let an anonymous friend or family member in the UK do it for you, though, soooo, was this some national security measure? If so, it may require a little more thought. Either way, I hated them anyway, as did nearly every Brit I worked with over there. I told them to take a hike.

Incidentally, while I was physically present in the UK, Vodafone told me I couldn't add minutes over the phone because I didn't have a special UK-only credit card with some chip in it, so I had to do it in person by waiting in long lines at one of their stores.

Moral: Don't get Vodafone if you're a legit visitor; do get Vodafone if you are a terrorist and your terrorist cell buddies can buy you more minutes while you're hanging out in Afghanistan.

Just called Verizon and just got my SIM Unlock Code
within 5 Minutes, as you stated. It was a completely
painless task, since I spoke to the right Tech.

has anyone with a verizon unlocked gsm phone, have issues staying connected to the GSM network? I am curious to see if this issue is only concerned with the sprint version. Thanks.

for the sprint verison to connect u have to flash a patched radio from the elite team!! out the box sprint tp2 is unlocked but its only for overseas gsm/umts that patched radio is found here

wait if you connect to t mobil, does it take minutes considering t mobile has free minutes on each others phones?

if u are on the gsm side of ur tp2 u will be using the tmobile sim to make calls! at that time ur phone will act as if its a tmobile phone!! i even assume if u were using a at&t sim that u could make calls and use the internet at the same time!! the cdma side of ur phone is off while connected to the gsm side

Nope. That requires AT&T 3G, and the TP2 doesn't support AT&T 3G.

i can connect to tmobile's network, but alot of the sprint users seem to have issues keeping a constant connection with the network, so my question was does this also happen w/ an unlock verizon phone trying to use a GSM network.
