TP2 + Garmin XT

Any TP2 Garmin XT users? I am curious to see how the app looks on a WXVGA device. Screenshots anyone?

Garmin is OK but here is the problem ...

Say you are in City A now. But you want to plan a route on City B to City C but you cant do it because you are not physically in City B and C!

Isnt that wonderful?

I don't know why you would want to do that but you can in Garmin.
You go to Tools then Manage My Data then Routes then Create New Saved Route. It will let you input a Start Point and Destination. You can save a bunch of them if you want.

Sure you can! It's easy and I do it all the time.

First: Enter destination info for City C and hit GO
Second: Enter destination info for City B, but instead of hitting go, hit options and "Add as via to current route"

BAM! It takes you to City B, then on to City C!

And for the lag everyone says they have, I got rid of it by switching to an 8GB Class 4. Most of the cheap cards are Class 2 and will lag like crazy. I know the class ratings are for write speed, but a cheap card will read slow. And usually write speeds are relative to read speeds on these cards. Just buy 1 higher end 2GB card (Class 4 or better) and put just Garmin on to test it. I promise you the lag will go away.

As for Igo, I've had strange issues with it: (It IS more feature rich though, that's why I still use it... just not if I'm in a hurry to enter destination and go)

1. It won't switch from portrait to landscape without exiting the program and restarting.
2. It occasionally looses satellite lock. Garmin doesn't seem to have this problem.

Re: TP2 + Garmin XT

I've been using Garmin and Tom Tom. Both work great. The only issue I have had is that once in a while my phone will just restart itself. But it's only happened a few times. And only when I have had the GPS running.

Re: TP2 + Garmin XT

I've used TomTom before, it is a pretty awesome package, but the Google Local search got me over to Garmin (not sure if TT does that yet).

Appreciate the screen shots!
