i'm currently posting this from my HTPC which is projected via a 1280x720p DLP projector onto a 100" 16:9 screen - that I sit 11' from. I went from 30" CRT 1080i display to this. If you don't want nearly everyone's tv's to seem small don't ever do this!

So.. with that being said, I will chime in on this issue you arew all speaking off. Now.. if you see the picture posted here? Its clearly show a very long screen in which I must say is GOOD. But looky here, look what we have here.... Another prime example of HTC cutting corners. The width is ridiculous! It should be a minimum double the size it is! Dont you think? Maybe its HTC minimizing the stuck pixel count?

So based on your posting policy on TP2 threads you stated then you're staying out of all them then correct?
As far as your comment on width, do you not understand aspect ratio? The width and length of the screen are dictated by the aspect ratio and the desired diagonal screen size. The resolution of the phone dictates a ~1.67 aspect ratio. Make the width bigger and you need to make the height bigger too but by a larger amount as well. You quickly end up with a much larger device when increasing width - this phone is already taller then most consumers want anyways - I may not mind having a huge device (I'd like a Leo for sure) - but will it sell for a decent price due to low demand? The resolution is a standard one, 800x480 is something multiple devices use and scales well off existing resolutions. Programs have to be written to support a particular resolution so they can't yank one out of the air like Apple did since all their apps are one off and platform specific. If anything the phone should be even taller and NOT any wider so that we can have true "widescreen" or 16:9 display at the current 480p vertical res which would be ~850x480p. If you're trying to defend Apple's retarded 1.5:1 aspect ratio they use; go away - why have a video device that results in significant cropping of the established 16:9 aspect ratio. Not too mention apple's resolution is significantly lower too - their 480x320 pixel count is terrible for a 3.5" display - even my Sony Clie TG50 from 6+ years ago had WAY higher PPI.
In short, stop trolling.
