Re: TP2 vs. TP1 screen question
I really hate to agree, but I could see it being a little wider myself.
The screen in my Ipod Touch is wider, although slightly shorter. The thing is, the width is what you really notice. That Ipod screen LOOKS bigger when you compare the two side by side. (even though there is very little difference really) ~John |

Re: TP2 vs. TP1 screen question
I disagree totally with that statement, but it doesn't matter as we can't change it anyway.
When I first got the TP2 I was using both that & my 2nd gen ipod touch daily (I still prefer to use the ipod for everyday internet stuff as I love safari & the way it zooms etc). I tether the ipod using WMWIFIrouter & that gives me the best of both worlds. In the beginning, I kept thinking that even though the screens are basically the same size that the ipod screen definitely seem/feels bigger. I finally put the two side by side on my desk, on the exact same screen & that's when I realized the ipod (same screen as an iphone) was noticeably wider. I didn't even notice the extra height of the TP2 screen at first, but that extra width is instantly noticeable. Of course, the much higher resolution of the TP2 is also immediately noticeable. ~John |

Re: TP2 vs. TP1 screen question
Christ with the comparisons already... if you do the math the TP2 has more surface area, ever so slightly, then the IPod... But honestly.. It doesnt matter... who cares... They both have strong points and low points... Ones is a resistive screen one is capacitive... one has a higher res than the other... Over all its a wash... it comes down to fanboyism, or just plain ole preference...
Both are great phones, and neither of them are perfect... I would pay top dollar for an HTC phone that had a fast enough processor to run smoothly... Id even stick with 6.1 since Touch Flo makes it look pretty good... Just need it to run faster ( give me a snapdragon already! ) IPod, I would pay top dollar for an IPhone that wasnt tied to AT&T, had a physical keyboard, you could fully customize icons and layouts to your liking, and was a little more than Wafer Thin... Personally, its a phone, I want to feel it in my hand... Personally I think Apple is good at doing things well, but then settling in on how good their first effort was. The 3G, 3Gs, talk about baby steps... this phone has been out forever and they have failed to innovate out of fear of splitting the market!! Anyway, on the other side, HTC innovates every 6 months and makes you feel like you always need a new phone... So my point is, you cant please everyone... |

Can you imagine how many they would sell if they did exactly that?? Hell, if the CURRENT Iphone was available on Verizon there would be an awful lot more of them around....... ~John |
