A short return to the 3d drivers (and promising results)
One thing I know about this issue is that it has been discussed ad nauseum by Exil3d and while we love him for it...there is some new developments I have come to discover and a lot of it is occurring at xda-developers
For one thing, a new beta driver set by Neo2007 of xda-developers will come out this week http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=402 But that's not the reason for this post actually. The reason of this post is because of the Galatea 3d gaming engine that is designed specifically for windows mobile devices by MindPol this beta is a year old but shows a lot of promise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGfO2aZE8Xo and that's not all! The question of 3d acceleration drivers being placebo or actually working will be the question. I have a beta cab of something very unique developed by MindPol attached. Consider this the new "d3d driver demo" I will attach the Neo2007 3d drivers in this post and the MindPol cab. Once the mindpol cab is installed, navigate (in any file explorer) to program files -> Galatea Engine -> Sample -> Animated Fleo run animated Fleo.exe and be amazed at a very good development for 3d acceleration on a windows mobile device |

Re: A short return to the 3d drivers (and promising results)
though
I don't know when neo2007 will release his new drivers...hopefully very VERY soon mindpol is a company that is known for creating games for the DS so given this development, a great step! I didn't see it for 320x240 or for 640x480 screen resolutions. Just wide qvga and wvga which is perfect for our devices |

Running pretty smooth, I also noticed you can touch the character and it does some little movements like walking faster and nodding...cool.

Mindpol put a trial version of one of their games up on their site, and while it's 2D, it looks and runs GREAT. I really hope they can keep it up and make some exciting games.
