I also think when the device gets unlocked, that is going to open up a whole new can of worms for newbies. I am okay with that as I was once that person and I have no problem when people ask repeated questions. They are anxious and sometimes searching brings up so many different answers they don't even know what they are looking at. It is our choice if we want to help or not. I think if we didn't have all these questions being asked over and over, we would get bored here and the traffic would be cut in half. So I am all for keeping this community active, even if it means repeated questions. Steer that person in the right direction and you could make them the happiest person ever! |

Re: TP2 Owners Please Read...
I found when I was using the 800W that storing CAB files on the card was much easier than having to move them there from the PC and the backups. More than one time I have had to execute a hard reset and start over from the lazies. So I now backup before any playiing.

Sage advice on acquainting yourself with the device before attempting mods. For those ready to make changes, that's exactly why I've compiled the most common improvements into a single package in lieu of custom ROMs being available. Kudos to your for making the effort to better educate users.

I think no one searches anything. Plus.. the search on this site is horrible. Everytime I search for something, it comes back empty.

Re: TP2 Owners Please Read...
Personally, my biggest piece of advice to newbies would be just to be patient and expect imperfection.
What I've noticed from helping non-techies with their WinMo phones is that a lot of them expect the same experience from 'Windows'...Windows Mobile and Windows XP/Vista means nothing to them...it's all 'Windows' and everything should just work, the way they want it to, the first time. |

As one of the "new members" the OP is talking about, I have to say I agree with you. I know a couple of times I have had problems that I've read solutions about in the past, but when I go to find those solutions I come up empty...

think about how great it would be if you could just go to a website, click downloads, then click touchflo, then click slider bar and find all the different slider bar tweaks... |
