Re: Friend asked why I didn't buy an iPhone...
yup... but I also agree. I too recommend iPhone for some people, as I can tell they are the type that need to be instructed during each step (Like when you call up tech support, and they want to see your Device Manager, so they say, "Click the start button (wait) Click Programs (wait) Click Control Panel (wait) Click Administrative Tools (wait) Click Device Manager..." You moron, why didn't you just tell me to type "Device Manager" in the Start search box?). Those are the types of people that will have a hard time with a Winmo device.

Re: Friend asked why I didn't buy an iPhone...
My GF is in law school and interacts with soon to be lawyers as well as regular lawyers and most of them have Blackberrys. Not to say that there probably aren't people with iPhones, but I feel that most professionals will go with Blackberry or WinMo over the iPhone just because those devices tend to be more professional in nature and application/hardware design. I mean, how hard is it to design things that users can shut down/turn off quickly and replace a battery to get another several hours of use?

Re: Friend asked why I didn't buy an iPhone...
Ok,ok, let's see if there is anybody really talking out of there mouth here on this thread. I had mogul-diamond-tp-almost tp2....then you guessed it iPhone 3gs 32gb. WAKE UP People! I keep hearing all this bs about the iPhone. I have
had wm devices for 3 or 4 years. I've flashed Roms, used skyfire ,opera, customized wallpapers you name it I did it thanks to everyone her at ppcgeeks. But it's time you Guys and girls do what I did....stop throwing down hundreds of dollars for iPhone wannabees. Stop hiding behind comments like "it's for idiots" or I'm a wealthy business man and I need to take pictures of business cards." When you jailbreak these things the sky is the limit. Every app that apple makes can be cracked and then there are millions that independent developers make. I honestly just want some of you that can, to swallow your pride and do some research. Try hackulous.com. I mean I have skype on my phone and something called 3g unrestrictor and I can call anyone anywhere for less than a penny and not use cell minutes. Not to mention tomtom, satelite radio,so much more.... And games??? I'll just start and finish with madden 10....so there will be many of you who just talk **** now but if saved just one of you from wasting more mone on a "HighTechComputer" then I've done my Jobs... |

Re: Friend asked why I didn't buy an iPhone...
I agree that the iPhone can be great, especially if jailbroken, but then you have the hassle of jailbreaking every time an update comes out to upgrade your phone, unless I don't understand how it's accomplished properly, which is possible. There are also the cell network issues, though apparently jail broken phones have fewer issues. And the big thing is the battery life and lack of multitasking, though I guess there is an app for the latter. Personally, I'd rather be able to change my battery on my own and not need to run ANOTHER program just so I can run more than one thing at a time. Sure, WM doesn't have multitouch yet, and it doesn't have games, but the thousands of WM apps out there don't tend to have 10 duplicates that do basically the same thing, and a majority of the stuff for WM is completely free. The iPhone has great hardware, but the software that supports it, both the iPhone OS and iTunes completely suck IMO, and as such, I'll stick with WinMo

Re: Friend asked why I didn't buy an iPhone...
Nuts....everything is free on iPhone...I have paid for nothing...battery life on my phone is incredible unlike with my tp which I had 3 at one time....jailbreaking is a snap and although you can't upgrade right now to 3.1 believe me when I say it doesn't matter... I've also had physically keyboards and the one on the iPhone is just as good once again believe me I've only had this thing 3 weeks and it blows wm devices away....

Re: Friend asked why I didn't buy an iPhone...
If you know what your doing a WM PPC, it will blow out any phone! The possibilities are unlimited. It will blow out the gayphone(iphone) and any other OS phone you think of currently.
