Frustrated..Any way to mod TF3D?

Coming from other HTC devices (6600,6700,Touch) I'm afraid I don't like FT3D. Have scoured the boards to try to accomplish the following:

Today Screen Mods
1. Get rid of call history.
2. Add other applications to Today Screen such as Weather Panel
3. Ideally make date bigger font
4 Remap Left and Right Soft Keys to iContacts and ThumbCal or change Today Calender to ThumbCal

I have changed several approaches to remapping the soft keys:

Registry changes to L/R SoftKey Text and Path as oulined in TouchPro threads. I can change the displayed text, but even if I leave the Path as default, the new text "breaks" the link and nothing launches.

Three TF3D configuration tools (one as CDMA version) found in searches including KeySwop, to no avail.


I also find that I absolutely hate the email viewer (envelope) in TF3D Tabs and much prefer the WM default line listing, but can't fingure out how to change that either.

I appreciate any help/suggestions, otherwise I will probably disable TF3D and use another Today Plug In/Launcher.

you didnt look very hard. lol "remap softkeys" cab will do just that and its freeware. theres a cab to remove call history and cal, they will be there if you tap on them, just not visible. for email problem, theres tweaks to change the look to "glass"envelopes. i fetch you some cabs to fix the issues. most of these are tp tweaks but should work. remap softkeys cab, http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...-softkeys.html glass envelopes cab. forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=56553 try these to see if they work, i would backup first. not sure why that didnt paste, hold on. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=56553

With all due respect, I have used "Remap Soft Keys" on my Touch successfully. I just now tried "Remap Soft Keys" and it does NOT work on the Sprint CDMA version of TP2. Neither does direct registry editing.

It seems like TF3D needs to be modified, not the device, to effect any changes.

advanced config, will rename/map our soft keys for touchflo...

and for waetherpanel and touchflo, you need to run second today AND TFDetacher to get that setup to work

OK, I'm old (5 and dumb, but so far it just doesn't work.

I have used Advanced Configuration Tool (Schapman Version 3.3.0.0)

Menu>More Settings>Key mapping>Left SoftKey and browsed to any program (iContacts preferred) and it programatically puts in path and display text. Hit OK , X to Exit. Then on TG3D, the entered text value for program displays properly, put hitting softkey does absolutely nothing, I mean nothing. Looking at the registry, shows proper entries for both display name and path, so it looks like Advance Config Tool is editing registry, but something is preventing the edits from being honored.

Again, I am talking Sprint Touch Pro2 released within the last week. Please consider that GSM (non-Sprint) versions are not the same.

Reddog, i can confirm that you are not going crazy. I am having the same issue. I have not found a solution yet. I will keep looking.

I Have the same problem with a german MDA Vario V from t-mobile. I solved it with the tool ssmaho 0.0.4.0, where you can change the left softkey (which is contacts in this model). The only problem is, on the the people tab there is also the left softkey assigned to contacts and this softkey now starts the same program as on the home tab. I can live with it.

i have a sprint TP and gave advice up top... i ntoiced OP said setup advanced config and hit "X"... you have to hit done, then say yes when it prompts you to soft reset...

advanced config changes almost always require a soft reset for changes to fully take place, thatd explain why the new softkets showed up, but didnt go where u wanted
