How do you tether with the Sprint touch pro 2 - Page 4

i'm not at home so i can't check but are you all saying that when you plug in your phone and when the option internet sharing pops up and you select it, that doesn't work? that option will pop up without any hacks, at least on the sprint touch pro 2.

I also agree with the previous user that I would like to tether using the old Mogul way. Just select ICS and hit connect. I used the new cab posted by Mighty I believe and it didn't work.

the problem is cm guardian keeps putting the reg key back in upon a soft reset. there is no way to remove cm guardian as its locked down...for now!

bastards! apparently the t-mobile folks don't have to hack anything to tether. ah well, i love SERO.

wifi tethering will work for now, but i know my speeds and battery life will be better by tethering via usb.

I'm sure the PPC/XDA gods will create something soon enough.

The stealth cab should make it work.

As for speeds being faster via USB, it is not true. I have not seen any proof of that.

Both USB and WIFI transfer rates are beyond your cellphone service download speed so it boils down to overhead and transfer latency.

USB as a specification isn't very media friendly.
WIFI has to do data encryption.

In the end though, both are around equal, you shouldn't see any performance deterioration either way.

As for battery, WIFI obviously would drain more..but if its plugged in, it makes no difference except once plugged in it is more convenient to carry a laptop around

Hi all,
I am new to the ppc. I have a sprint TP2 and would like to tether and/or install a wifi app. Where can I get HTC wifi app. How do i install it, install from a pc or download from Internet to the TP2, does it self install, do I need other apps. to install and make it work? as you can see I am green to this. Any help on the details would be much appreciated. Thanks

got it to install on second try, added it to storage card this time, but will not let me in comm manager, getting message "Comm Manager dosen't support "MobileWifiRouter"

just do the reg hack and use HTC Wifi Router.
No cables and it's over 802.11.

remember that for the sprint TP2, CM_guardian will overwrite any changes to the "forececellconnection" key- see here for a partial workaround: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...07&postcount=7
