Then as for choices to share, there is using ICS or there are other tools such as:

HTC WIFI ROUTER

WMWIFIROUTER

PDANET

And one more but forgot its name(but its annoying to config, it was made on XDA)

I have used wmwifirouter before but since I got a new TP2 I'm trying the HTC WIFI ROUTER which I think was token off the Topaz, so far it seems the easiest to configure and does not require ICS.
HTCs wifi app is slower than wmwifirouter in my experience testing them all... and it probably does use ICS, even wmwifirouter uses it-might be because it has a wifi to usb option though...that option alone is worth 30bucks.. some people still dont have routers(me included) on their PC, this way you still have the wifi signal, but can use it without a router needed...

theres links in my sig for all the usually Tethering apps... no reason why they wont work on TP2... wmwifi, ics, and htc app have all been tested on my TP2 and work

WMWifiRouter uses it 100%, Ive been using it for years..I have not tested speed yet as I just installed it today and using it now but I noticed it has a weaker WEP key then WMWIFIROUTER if security is your thing.

HTC WIFI ROUTER I do not see ICS running in background...and I remember reading somewhere it is not required.

I'm just saying that out of all options HTC WIFI Router seems the most hassle free, in no way did I claim it is better.

At a one time charge of $34, it's less than one month's fee at Sprint, so I got it, and it's so easy to use and usually works flawlessly. Since I rarely use it, I doubt that Sprint would ever feel that I'm abusing my data connection.

Re: How do you tether with the Sprint touch pro 2

its been what 2 yrs easy for tethering and its hacks???

why r u guys installing stealth cabs etc, obviously they dont care... and like noone ever has reported being charged.... whats the point? to cover you behind??? ummm, its a stock app, that requires nothing extra to get it to work.... theres your angle to argue with right there.... its basically impossible to get charged-though if they did, you may have to argue for charges to be removed...

we've been doing this(tethering)forever now... face it, they wont charge you... dont need a reg edit... dont need to install a cab or delete a .dll

boredandtattooed, dragon is correct, without that reg edit, the internet sharing option is there but you will not be able to tether for free with out his edit.

I agree. As rarely as I use it, it's no biggie. Never had an issue in 2 or 3 years of doing it now. Never heard of anyone having a prob.

Re: How do you tether with the Sprint touch pro 2

i dont know why it would be any different for others...

but there were no network connection settings in ICS unless you did this reg hack.... ive flashed stock many times and hard reset on stock many times, the network connection settings option is just simply not there......

so ya saying without the reg edit, you have the option to select network connections??????? now remember custom roms come usually with the network connections, but on stock its just not there...

Re: How do you tether with the Sprint touch pro 2

So how do you tether than? I don't need the stealth cab or a wifi router cab or anything installed on my laptop? It's all new to me and I want to try it but I don't want to have to edit my registry.. All I want to know id what 1 thing do I need on my phone stealth cab a wifi router or both? I have 2 cabs on my phone stealth cab and a wifi router cab. I just don't know which one to install or if I do both and what do I install on my laptop. I want to surf my laptop wirelessly from my phone.. I don't want anything hooked up USB.. I know it's in here at the beginning but I am still confused and am afraid of messing something up. Thanks, Rose

Edit: I think I figured it out. Installed wifi router and turned it on and saw the wireless connection on my laptop.. Cool!
