Not really a good fix IMO. Costs $30 if you wanna use it long term. Besides I think SPB 3.5 looks rather cluttered, just didn't care for it. Plus it's just as big a memory hog as TF3D which used to be the reason a lot of people used it.

Did you test the memory usage of MS 3.5? I'm curious because I did test MS3.01 and it actually used about 20MB less than TF3D...

Note: I do not run push Opera so it is not running in the background during any of these stat snapshots. I believe that in itself uses something like 9MB+.

Again I don't think this has anything to do with locking the phone. I never lock my phone, and have this happen all the time. It did it out of the box even with no aftermarket programs/tweaks installed yet.

Also, I don't understand why people still use s2u2 or any lock at all,other then to secure the phone (not like it's much security since SR would get you in). I always just hit the sleep button on my Titan and I do the same with my TP2. The phone's screen/buttons are inactive whenever it's asleep...

My phone turns on for all sorts of reasons and I don't wan't the screen being accidentally touched while it's in my pocket.... Have to avoid "butt dialing"

By the way, the workaround above is working for me as well. Thanks much!

This will allow you to bypass the device lock due to security policies for Microsoft Exchange Server.

First enable the box again to be unselected in Device Lock:

Navigate to HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001023

0 = Enabled; 1 = Disabled

Then go to Settings/Personal/Device Lock and uncheck the box.

Then install Zenyee.com Stay Unlock.cab and soft reset your device.

This program will prevent the lock to be activated again.

I can confirm this works. Phone calls now stay on the phone app and when I hit the sleep button or it times out on it's own and shuts off the screen the previous app is still open when I turn it back on. Is this detectable by my IT group though? I might just grin and bear it or try SPB for awhile since I've never really used it.

Background: This test was on the Verizon TP2 with touchflo and a corporate exchange server with pin lock.

I am also curious about this- in the past I have tried the registry edit alone but then every am the phone would get pushed the IT's lock policy and I would have to use a pin again- is there a quick read about what exactly Zenyee.com Stay Unlock.cab does (I will google but I'm lazy) edit- this good: http://journal.zenyee.com/2008/10/19...ter-two-years/

One last edit- after reading about "stayunlock" I installed it- you do not need to make the registry edits- after starting it I was able to go to the lock setting and unselect "prompt if device unused for"
Finally there is a workaround for this problem

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab

Ok, I think I have the "cause" figured out in my case, as I said it's not a lock problem for me. Does anyone else have this setting on?
Settings->Personal->Owner Information->Options->Identification Information & Notes
?
It makes it show recovery and owner information whenever the device is woke or turned on after reboot. It's basically the lost and found message so if a gracious person finds the phone they know right away after turning it on in any way who it belongs too and how to get a hold of them... (mine has a note to call my GF and a contact # for her)
I've always used this, but, I have noticed that it returns you to the home screen sometimes, when the device is woke. I've turned it off for now, but if this IS the problem, then that means that the prox sensor is actually SLEEPING the phone rather then just shutting off the display or backlight like I would want...

I guess this message isn't as needed with the new RemoteTracker build I'm running on it so if this fixes it, I'll leave it off. But if it does fix it, why didn't they just make the prox sensor shut off backlight/display rather then sleep the device oye. I'll let you know if I see this with this setting off after a few days of testing...

I just applied the hack provided by tsowen. Works great, with only one quite annoying problem. Stay Unlock stays permanent as a notification of the exchange server enforcing security.

Any one else have this issue?

OK, I think HTC officially knows it's a bug now instead of saying it was a design by choice. They say they know it's a problem and are working on a fix.

Finally! HTC kept tell me, via customer service, that it was "by design".
