How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
If I press the power button and wait greater than 3 seconds and turn my TP2 pro back on it goes back to the home tab instead of whatever program I had opened. I understand why you would want this to happen but the time out is way too short- any ideas (registry edits) to correct this and or lengthen the time out period?
EDIT- look here for the fix which worked for me!!! (my problem occured due to utilizing the lock for exchange) http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...4&postcount=93 (here is direct link to the stay unlock program with some instructions/options: http://journal.zenyee.com/2008/10/19...ter-two-years/) p.s. I only had to install the stay unlock program and did not need to make any registry edits- don't forget to config stay unlock for "always stay unlock" and then go to the lock settings to uncheck "prompt if device unused for" thanks tsowen for getting involved!!! |

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
disable the default device lock with the .cab in the tweaks folder and use s2u2 if you need a lock app..<shrug>

EDIT: Okay, scratch that. It worked, but only on my first attempt. Since then it's been going back to the home screen again! |
Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
Yes I did- I powered the unit completely off (hold power key down for several seconds) then turned it back on.
Maybe its because I don't have the device lock on to start with? |

FYI, I don't believe holding down the power key for a period of time resets the device. You either need a software utility to do this for you, or use the reset pin hole under the back cover. |
Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
After reading through the post on the tweaks thread I realized I also have the phone screen problem described here:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...7&postcount=65
I would hate to have to hard reset to see if this problem was caused by something I installed! Anyone have any idea how to prevent this default back to home tab? EDIT- after poking around a bit I found that if I change my lock settings to "prompt if device is unused" to 0 minutes (originally I had this set to 1 hour) now when I press the power button off then back on, I get back to whatever screen I was originally on- no more defaulting to the home tab- of course now I have to enter my pin for anything other than when I am on a phone call (i.e. the phone screen problem is fixed!) |

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
The Telephone Keypad issue was a problem for me at first but I found out an app was causing the keypad to timeout after blackout back to the HTC home screen. Now that's resolved the BIG issue I have with this phone is default back to the HTC Home Screen regardless of what I am doing when the power button is hit or the phone times out off. Massively irritating. I'll try the edits listed but everything I have tried so far has not worked :-/

I am simply not having this problem. Power button to black pout screen, wait 45 seconds ( or whatever amount ) and back to the program that I was last using. While on call.............. put to head/face to talk, screen black's out.... pull phone away, screen comes back on to the dial pad/icall screen. Am i mixed up? |

Its funny because my problem is intermittent - sometimes it defaults to the home screen (majority of time)- sometimes it doesn't- who knows!!

Done and acting fine. I have actually hard resetted a number of times since getting the phone the other day. And have applyed a number of reg tweaks to it at different times......... none of them have given me the problem that you speak of |
Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
ACTUALLY, My TP2 is way more stable than my old TP1......... WAY MORE.
God I dislike the TP! more and more now that I have the TP2! What a different phone. It shouldn't be called the Touch Pro 2....... it's kind of insulting... |
Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
I have a Sprint TP2 and was having the same issue, which was most annoying when in a call and trying to get access to the keypad or "End Call" button...once the proximity sensor had shut off the screen, I could get the screen to come back, but the keypad/phone screen would only appear for a second and then disappear and I was back at the home screen while the call continued.
I had the device lock enabled so I tried changing the setting to 0 minutes as suggested. This made the screen work correctly with applications, but the in-call screen was still disappearing. Turning off the device lock completely solved the problem. I wanted to mention this since I haven't installed anything other than Google Maps, so it seems to be solely a TF3D issue. |

Another possible solution- check out this app here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=4348968
it appears to be able to disable the light sensor during the phone call- the down side is that the screen will stay on during the whole call? anyways it appears to be an interesting tool |

I don't know how but installing the Rhodium Setting Tools, turning off the light sensor, and resetting the phone appears to work. Unfortunately, it does not work consistently. :(

has anyone else had issues with the screen going dark and returning to the homepage during a call? i have not found a way to prevent this from happening...yet.

Re: How to stop defaulting back ot the home tab
so I'm guessing that the Rhodium settings tool ultimately did not work for you?
