Re: Official Sprint TP2 Pros and Cons thread...

Im a little confused myself about the 32mb of RAM

I thought all USA TP2 would come with the misread of 256 like the Australian version did then HTC (possibly though carriers) would provide the hotfix like it did to its Unlocked Australian version.

see: http://www.htc.com/au/supportdownloa...act=sd&cat=all

have all the carriers really decided to go with lower ram or well there be a possible hotfix for the US as well?

There is really nothing that needs fixing. They just aren't counting the 32 meg that is always dedicated to being "shadow ram" for the video ROM, for faster video. It wasn't available before and it isn't now. It doesn't affect the reading as to how much is remaining FREE, because it was always used on the TP1, etc. WHy add more software to correct a non-issue. It's somewhat analogous to having a speedometer that reads 100 mph faster than your car can possible go, and feeling bad that someone else got one that reads 130 mph faster than the car can go. Is that worth "fixing"? In reality, it's not an issue, and isn't here either. Indeed, the FIX may create an issue.

Page-pooling, pre-loading selected pages, etc. It's not an issue in operation, in fact, it's why it operates faster. You really don't have an issue, except in understanding how it works. Consider this simile - 2 men each have a 1-ton pile of sand to carry from point A to point B. One man carries his load at 10 mph and the other only carries his load at 5 mph.

But the man who carries his load at 5 mph wins. Why? He can carry 200 lbs., and the other man can that goes at 10 mph can only carry 20 lbs. Remember, it's a simile, not a parallel. Another is a computer with a 64 bit bus compared to one with a 16 or 32 bit bus.

Re: Official Sprint TP2 Pros and Cons thread...

Here is an odd observation.
My family is increasingly communicating by texting. The virtual keyboard on my Diamond is difficult to use for all of this texting, so I chose to get the TP2 for the keyboard.
The screen, however, is so big, that I find the virtual keyboard on the TP2 quite acceptable.
I'll keep it anyway...................................

if you really like it, you might want to think about the diamond 2, but know one knows when or if this is coming to sprint.

Re: Official Sprint TP2 Pros and Cons thread...

To me, it is not worth to upgrde to tp2 after I tried TP2 a couple days, I feel like I am going to stick with tp1. Data speed is about the same as tp2, it just has better screen, memory is less than tp1, is it an upgraded phone from tp1? Memory should be equal or more than tp1, but it has less memory than tp1. It is not worth to pay $ 349.95 plus tax. I am returning the phone right now.
