I am dealing with a child with spider bites that
are requiring medicial attention. So here is what
I am doing in this thread while I am in the waiting
room.

I am opening this thread. If you don't like the
thread... don't post in it. If you do post in it,
your post needs to be on topic or you will get a
temp ban and the thread will remain open while
you are gone.

Exil3d...Keep the drivers conversations to this
thread only.

Are we limited by drivers or are we limited by OS? That is something I have been wondering. Noting that most of the OSes that run the enhanced drivers of qualcomm have their own OS and don't use microsoft OS. I am reminded of the TGO1 that is yes 1ghz but it is restricted to windows mobile limitation
so is the question of driver htc or microsoft limitation? Does the android have proper drivers?
requoting this for a few reasons
omnia II has some pretty powerful 3d/2d drivers and while that's evident in the screens/reviews, I see that there is still a drastic chug so again I am wondering is the chug caused by processes running in background or windows mobile limitation itself?

I wish I could answer your question but I have never had a Android phone. Hopefully someone tech savvy with a Android phone can chime in.

I have given WM thought as the culprit but i highly doubt it since HTC has clearly stated that its a liceance agreement that has kept them from giving us the drivers. And thats what pisses me off the most. This is the 6th generation upgrade starting from the MOgul that has this issue and Cell Provider,HTC, Qualcomn and ATI cannot come to a agreement? When you email them about this they point fingers at each other.

Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

It is rather stupid that HTC has decided against not acquiring the right drivers... then again, the available applications that would possibly take advantage of this need are fairly low. Very good question about the Hero and other Android phones by HTC actually coming with the approperiate drivers....

its not the apps that would use them, its more of the fact that the whole os would benifit. I always thought my axim x51v was better/faster yet i had no phone with it. i never understood about the drivers. That explains why some of my games just aren't playable. Until I have aphone with proper 3d/2d acceleration, i will be sticking to my tp1

It is the OS's limitation. Drivers that the TS is asking for can't do much since it's capable of only 4M triangles. They said it will give more battery life coz it takes away a load on the CPU. It takes away a load on the CPU but now U gotta power the GPU. LOL.
So really, We just need an OS that can optimize the limited capabilities of the hardware. That is why I was asking what do we need the drivers for? Coz if people are thinking to play an extensive game, The chip is not powerful enough. Aside from that, TP2 is fine as it is. The new TF3D was optimize to the fullest to run at what the chip can provice.

Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

Actually HTC has said themselves the drivers cannot be released due to License agreements. Anyone with a technical background knows what the MS72xx chip can do with proper drivers.
