You see the one that runs very slow at about 3 fps? thats how PRO2 runs currently.
I didn't quite see much difference..other then the Tytn II had a brighter and more colorful screen. But the cpu on those are completely different and unrelated. If you had a Tytn II with drivers and one without that would have made a better comparison.

Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

Look at the device thats running at 3 to 4 fps. Thats how All devices with MSM7200 cpus run. The faster device is a older one but runs it smoother just like our 6700 used too.

There shouldn't be a difference in File system access..you can see that the Diamond 1 is outperformed by the TP1 on this test unlike the rest. So no reason why a TP2 should loose to a Diamond 2 here.

This makes me assume that it may be the rom.

Re: HTC PRO 2 Proper 2d/3d Drivers

These bench marks are sometimes off by a bitr due to the device sometimes running background programs hoggin up resources. But its a good chart to observe. Also.. this is the GSM version. Does the GSM and CDMA perform 100% alike?

It might be due to additional stuff they put on the TP2 according to the site. Look here

I think they should perform the same.. as the GSM uses the MSM7200 or MSM7200A and the CDMA uses the MSM7600 if you look at the specs of both chips CPU is the same only the radios change...

btw just today i found the same benchmarks, and just to note.. the dell axim they put there on the bechmark is the model that does not have a dedicated video card.. only the X51v had a intel 2700G with 16mb dedicated for video... also they are bechmarking the X5 with a PXA250 .. were the dell axim X51v uses a XPA27x, it is a different CPU architecture in were they modified a lot of things...

Ahh was forgeting .. I think but not sure.. the CDMA may use more power... because CDMA uses more power for data transmition and I dont remenber corectly but i think it is manufactured on an older process node...

MSM7200A was only released because they had a patent dispute with broadcomm but as it is solved they are using the MSM7200

for ex. Tegra will play music for 25 days straight on 1 charge. Snapdragon will play music for 60 hours in 1 charge. Now, U see a significant difference.

See here
See here on how Tegra conserve power

You are right on TP2. If people would like to see amzing games, Business centric phones should be the last device U wana check.
Nope ... I dont think tegra will play music for so long... Ok.. lets take the Zune HD... (it is the fist device that will have with a tegra chipset).... It will only make 33 hours playing music... that is with miscrosoft specs.. it should be lower in real life...

Also we have to take acount that it have a OLED screen and rigth now the screen is what takes more power for a device... and we do not know how big is the battery so we cant know how much is the power consuption...

Now if we take that we want a smartphone with tegra ... we need to add the Radio (GSM/CDMA) .. as it is not included on the tegra chipset... (on the smartdragon it is included on the chipset), that would make the device more power hungry (making thebaterry last less)

Zune HD should play 8.5 hours of video... and thats a lot.. thanks to the GPU on the tegra chipset... I could only make about 3-4 hours with my Dell axim X51v using a expanded battery and not hd videos....

Sadly I havent read info in the smartdragon as i would be interested on the QSD8650 (i think thats the number of the one that have GSM/CDMA)

If needed, i can run benchmark tests on my axim x51v. Someone has just got to tell me what to do. and btw, its not running stock if that will through off the tests. Just an offer
