I went onto a T-Mo store and the guy handed me the TP2 to play with. He said, I am not a fan of WM because I just don't get how to use it. Well if a sales person who works in a cell store does not have the patience to learn the device, how many average everday cell phone users are going to have a clue. It is the same reason why so many companies go with Blackberry's. It is just easy to use and they just don't freeze and have issues like a WM device.

If I wasn't a phone geek, I wouldn't deal with these things either. WM devices are the most unstable, non-people friendly, always having to worry if your phone is frozen in your pocket and that's why you didn't get a call all day, or if the alarm will go off in the morning or just decide not to work type of machines....

Now with that said, I will be purchasing a TP2 because I like having a device that people have no clue how to use and have it do everything I need. I am not overly excited though, because once the large screen wears off, I will basically be down to the same features as my Diamond. I think the next round of devices are the ones to get excited about!
I disagree. What some of you fail to realize is the stock roms these phones came with worked pretty damn good not perfect but pretty damn close. The do what they are suppose to we just always want to push it to the max. A lot of those issues you just mentioned are issues that cooks have created by tweaking and modifying things. My phone rarely freezes and i never worry about missing calls. The problem is the cell phone carriers need to teach the employees to not be bias. The employees try and sell you phones they like and the ones they like are the ones they are knowledgable about. I just laugh when i walk into a store and then try and tell me what a phone can and cannot do. Because most of the time they are completly wrong. example: before the pre came out a rep try to sell me on the point that you can have multiple web pages open at the same time on the pre's browser. I said dude i have been able to open multiple web pages on windows mobile phones for a while now and he said "are you sure" i said yeah and showed him. He was suprised. And this is something small. Carriers need to train there employees on all these phones and help the customers find a phone that fits the customers needs. Windows phones are not that complicated. If you know how to use a computer you know how to use a windows phone. The complicated part is flashing and tweaking which most people probably wouldn't do. Windows just need to make it look more flashy which windows mobile 6.5 and 7 will take care of.

The reps expect you to buy a phone you cant instal anything on. Whats the pupose of it? Having features you cant use. I had a theme in my phone which only changed the color of the taskbar for over a year, was flawless and a rep told me that my phone was frozen cause of that. I dont think it takes a year for it to fail. They dont even try, my impresion is that they always just wanna hard reset to solve anything, then we loose everything we had set up in it.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 Release Date Sept 6TH Per Sprint Corp

Prob has already been mentioned. I haven't been following this thread to hard, however the sprint stores in my area no longer have tp in stock. They only have a handful of referbs. And they have already gotten their model of the TP2 in so that one of the employees can learn it and all that jazz. Just kinda confirms the release is soon.

It has been known that stock was rare of the TP1... however I have not heard of any stores getting demo units.

Yeah, not sure how the demo units work though he had one. It was a corporate store, maybe that had something to do with it.

my sprint store still has touch diamonds and touch pros on display as of today....but they did admit they have no idea when the touch pro 2 is coming becasue phones usually just show up without even a friendly e-mail telling them surprise new phone (except the palm pre and instinct)

Not true at all, if the phone isn't a pre or a instinct than it can be activated on any plan. So if you have a free and clear for instance and buy a TP full price from somewhere else you can activate it no problem. I don't know where you got this non sense from but whoever told you that is wrong.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 Release Date Sept 6TH Per Sprint Corp

Update today, the playbook (the one I see anyways) showed nothing as of a release date for the TP 2. The only thing that shows it is closer is that the tech connections shows that the cellebrite has an update that allows it to connect with the touch pro 2 model # 6975. Yes we all know that it is already in the cellebrite machine, but this is the first time Sprint has announced it.
