Re: ROM questions and cooking
wow this is funny, i have to disagree. if this was true then there wouldn't be a need for custom roms except for those who want the latest and greatest. maybe their non carrier specific roms may be better. no one knows for sure what went wrong between the stock 6.1 rom and stock 6.5, some of us blame it on build 21889, others blame it on sense 2.5.2012 non cfc compressed which is used in the stock rom. i found that disabling phone canvas and trimming away some of the services within htc sense has in fact increased the stability and speed of my tp2 here in vins latest rom, theres very little need to overclock it. but for the OP since ur rom is based from the original stock sprint u could be carrying over some of its bugs. try to find a non carrier based htc rom (one for the unlocked gsm versions) and use that as base

I'm just trying to convey that HTC/MS know a whole lot more about making a ROM than any 'cook' here. I'm not suggesting that everyone should run the stock ROM (hence why I've built myself 100's of custom ROMs), but it's good for seeing how things are supposed to work. All 'cooking' consists of is taking parts of ROMs that HTC made and mashing them together with other parts from other HTC ROMs. You can also add a different SYS from MS or whoever, most of which are just emulator builds not even used on an actual device. The registry settings can also be changed because 'we' somehow know better than HTC/MS what the settings should be (heck, they must be putting things in to specifically slow down our phones ). |

Re: ROM questions and cooking
I agree with both of you . Whats weird tho is i cooked a ROM before with the same kitchen and base ROM image and that one flashed and clocked seemlessly . I had to fix some errors in the QGPS and input panel but once i did that and reflashed the new one it just simply sucked :/ as others have noticed as well .. i didnt really change much .. im just gonna start over ..
But im pretty sure my phone is having hardware issues .. i just flashed stock ROM and overclocked at 729 MHZ and it froze the instant i started typing using the hardware keyboard in a simple text message . this sucks .. i just got this phone as a replacement .. |
