just a heads up, the images you provided for the keyboard in your thread are down. Maybe you should update with new ones so that users know what it looks like b4 downloading and trying it. Last edited by lnando84; 11-05-2010 at 11:33 PM. |

Yes... I have three options: 1) Phone Keypad 2) Compact QWERTY 3) Full QWERTY I found a post on another forum about deleting: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic I tried that. Afterwards, I still had the same 3 keyboard choices, but I couldn't type on them. Strange. I quickly restored my Registry. I suspect some HTC software is overriding the basic system choices. Just don't know where else. One more point on my phone, I have TouchFLO turned off. I prefer the basic windows homescreen. Thanks again for your help. Let me know if you think of something else. |

Re: On Screen Keyboard (pen style) Help
I found a series of files in the WINDOWS directory on the phone. One is named PQ_Bg.??? It is some kind of image file and holds the outline of the keyboard.
Is it possible that this will take more than a registry edit? |

Re: On Screen Keyboard (pen style) Help
the option is in the stock 6.1 which is an all around better rom than the stock 6.5 so u can flash that. i also think that clicking that arrow to switch to any other type of keyboard or pulling out the stylus to use it actually takes more time than pressing and holding on a key for a number.

It depends on how many times you have to enter a number while you are typing. In my case many. I also use excel often on my phone, which is not the most finger friendly application, so the pen is helpful to have out anyway. There are few things that I miss about WM6.1 (for one, the old start menu with the recently used applications right across the top), but 6.5 has been pretty stable for me, and the few improvements make it worth keeping. I just want my keyboard back. Last edited by slimjon; 11-06-2010 at 10:23 PM. |

You may have to try that keyboard that was recommended earlier or you could install my preference which is FingerKeyboard. |

Re: On Screen Keyboard (pen style) Help
Hey doc, I was going thru the cabs in my storage card and came across one I downloaded a long while ago that skins that keyboard found in 6.1. It has to do with "msim.96.dll". I checked on my phone (6.5) and I don't have this file, only a msim.192.dll. Do you think maybe theres some way we would be able to pull it off your phone and make it work?
