On Screen Keyboard (pen style) Help

After upgrading to WM6.5, I can no longer access the smallest on-screen keyboard. That's the one that requires the pen and has a separate row for numbers.

Does anyone know how to reactivate it?

I do lots of typing with letters and numbers combined and having to hit shift or hold the number key is a waste of time.

If you click on a text input box on screen and your on screen keyboard deploys can you click on the little up arrow next to the keyboard icon at the bottom of the screen that looks like this ^ ? Then select other input methods and select Keyboard.

Slim... It looks like the Stock WinMo 6.5 ROM is missing that keyboard.
I had not even noticed it gone till now. Not sure if there's a cab out there. I'll keep an eye out for it.
But It looks to me like you're just gonna have to hit that extra key if you wanna type a number while using the on screen keyboard. I guess I hadn't noticed due to the awesome physical keyboard our device has.

OP use a Registry editor like PHM to check this registry value:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{62B00599-25D2-4e09-8C48-03BF26DB8517}\IsSipInputMethod]
"Default"="1"

If it is set to 0 then change it back to 1.

I don't have that line. I found one similar. It says:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{615623E0-A400-11D1-8910-0000F81EA21F}\IsSipInputMethod]

I changed that from "0" to "1", but do not notice a difference.


Any other suggestions?

Have you tried vga key? Get it HERE.

OK, after you change that reg value then soft reset and verify that it stuck. Then open something like email and deploy your keyboard and then try what I said in my first post here. Click on the up arrow and see if you can find the keyboard.

Thanks again. I reset the phone and confirmed that the change did in fact stick, but my keyboard options did not change. I only have Phone keypad, Compact Qwerty and Full Qwerty.. The same three choices as before.

Thanks.. that looks like a nice add-on. I may try it if I can't get the native keyboard back. I prefer to have as few extras running as possible.
