Touch Pro 2 ROM flashing and Task 29 HELP!!!!

Ok, I've done a lot of flashing ROMs to my HTC Sprint Touch Pro 2 RhodiumW. I have read about the more you flash ROMs the more sluggish it may get. I have read that Task 29 cleans the ROM COMPLETELY and then you re-flash a new rom. to clean out all bugs and just garbage left from other ROMs. I have also read about Radios.. If i use task 29 will i need to flash a new Radio onto my device? Or is the radio included in MrX's ROM and MightyROM? Im so confused on flashing Radios and the like.. do i need to be CID/Security Unlocked? or can radios be flashed being HardSPL unlocked? (Which i am now.. i dont want to CID/Security unlock as it will terminate my contract with sprint and to my knowledge will cause me to pay the early termination fee -.-) so any thoughts suggestions will be great!!!

radio will stay and no roms have a radio included in flash. if your

there's a task29 that doesn't require radio. see post#9 here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp2-u...tout-mtty.html

you only have to be hardspl unlocked to flash the normal radios.

custom roms do not contain the radio. you keep the same one.

how will that terminate your contract. never heard of that before.

You don't need the pay for help from members... if you feel compelled to donate, I urge you to donate to PPCGeeks or the the creator of the rom you're using.

Quick facts: Task29 does not necessarily flash a new radio (there are multiple versions), roms on this forum do not come with their own radio (official carrier roms usually DO), radio or security unlocking will not void your contract or subject you to the ETF, HardSPL unlocking allows for flashing of new roms (not intended for new radios), but with task29, you can kind of bypass this. I have not flashed a different radio using task29 so I cannot advise you on that.

And I personally don't subscribe to the idea that the more roms you flash, the more sluggish the device, though errors are thought to common or at the very least possible otherwise.

Hey everyone! Thanks for ALL your posts! And i will definatly donate!! And they(sprint) told me if i unlock my phone to be used on another network, it will terminate my contract with sprint.. ya know, the two year contract that says ill be with this company for two years.. thats what they told me anyhow.. i wouldnt mind unlocking so i can use my phone on verizons or other networks. to better increase my service. Maybe the guy from sprint said that to keep me from doing it?? im not sure. further assistance would be appreciated. I live In pennsylvania. i know over seas in some countrys its required for the cell company to unlock the phone for free.just sayin what i have come across. but i do know spl flashing voids warrenty..but not really cause you can just reflash stock ROM and re-lock ^-^ but thanks everyone for your input!! i will def look at each Task 29 you guys gave me links to! AGAIN! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!

Nothing personal, but I really feel that you need to do a little more reading on the topic. It sounds like Sprint told you that they will terminate your contract (and bill the ETF to your account) if you were to unlock and activate the TP2 with another carrier. Unlocking it will not do anything to your Sprint account, unless of course you flash it to and activate it on Boost Mobile, for instance.

You're completely right about the hardspl unlocking and warranty... yes it voids your phone's warranty, it may even cause problems with ESRP, but relocking it would bring everything back to normal (unless you brick your phone and meddle in warranty fraud).

I wouldn't "unlock" the TP2 for better service... you are able to force the phone to roam in the event that you have poor Sprint CDMA signal, and this is done natively in Windows Mobile.

the thing is, ive done so much reading about it that i am just confused about CID unlocking, and to flash a new radio, of course a sprint radio, i just have to be hard spl unlocked? according to razorloves post in this thread.. thats what i understood. thanks again guys!

if you really want to change the radio, you only have to be hard-spl unlocked. then you can flash any of these (except 1.40). http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp2-u...-included.html. just so you know, only reason to change a radio is if you're having poor connection quality with the towers. trying out a different radio may help.

there's no such thing as unlocking a sprint phone to work on verizon, so not sure what you meant there. You can sim unlock your phone so that you can use gsm service, like at&t, t-mobile, and all the others overseas. is this what you're wanting to do? you would have to have an active account with said gsm provider.

all of this is undoable, so if you need to return phone or bring it in for something, you can do it and not worrry about them finding out.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! that cleared A LOT up. I appreciate it gratefully! and sprint told me i can go overseas already.. however i wont be needing too as i cant afford a european vaction xP but i remember seeing a YouTube video where he unlocked the TP2 and showed all the service providers in his area where he could then just pick the one he wanted. Im really not too concerned about CID unlocking, i just thought it would enable me to use my phone on another network, say i am roaming.. i thought i could just switch to verizons network and use that instead of roaming. But yes, i will definatly try out different Radios, as my signal is not that great and it randomly goes into roaming when i just had 3g? oh well, lol. thanks forall your help!!
