I got 2 of these phones both are going on ebay so I can buy an EVO. DRIOD RULES!!!!
gotta love "JockRiders".. you clearly have nothing to back that up.. just look at my SIG, winMO and TP2 can do a million things Android or any Android Device CANT even do.. if you take 4G away(which takes away vid calls as well) and 720p vids, theres almost nothing an Android Device can do that the TP2 cant do also...

even my Android on my TP2 is almost as capable as a native Android Machine.. i just can use my CAM and MMS rght now, thats about all were missing.. and i never use those anyways... give us limitless access to the Android Market and who knows what we could really get working..

just saying, if winMO,MS,Sense all sucked "oh so bad" to you-then you had no idea what you were doing.. and never really learned how to do the things... your rebutle is going to be "well i should have to tweak my phone out anyways".. arguably true... but if youd of researched winMO before you bought a winMO device youd of seen its a hckers platform, its not a pick up and go style OS at all... so if you failed to know that before-hand, its really all YOUR fault you think winMO sucks

Good luck with the epic. It's irrelevant now probably but if you run cookie home tab, there's a media player built into the home screen. I stopped using windows media player and started using this instead, and it doesn't skip. I guess it's less resource intensive since you're not running a separate app, it's just part of the home screen. It's not perfect, you have to keep reminding it to randomize the playlist. Otherwise it's very handy, you can just slide up to get to it.

Re: Two huge nagging problems with the TP2 that may cause me to return or sell it...

people can be kinda silly when comparing phones. I mean your literally comparing a phone that was released May of 2009 to a device that was JUST released in July of 2010. The fact that people still compare the TP2 to any current device and its still considered the second best windows mobile device speaks volumes for the value of it. It should be blown away by any recent top tier device that came out months ago.

Anyways for the mp3 issue there are numerous fixes already released and posted in this thread.

If you dont like WinMo 6.5 then you can still run android on the device till you get something else.

I would be using android for any linux commands anyways since its based off of linux in the first place.

The Keep_Music_Playing_Registry_Fix.cab totally works. I've been using it since I got my TP2 in Sept 2009, and now-a-days when I flash/update the phone I just do the regedit that's in the cab.

Don't know whats up with that sticky Fn key, but there is a version of Poket PuTTY that was built to be optimized for the TP2. XDA has a thread of good software to install in the TP2 forum. XDA is down right now or I'd include the link.

Good luck with the shiny new phone though, the Epic looks like a nice device. The 1GHz processor and the 4-inch Super AMOLED display sounds like a pretty sweet combo.
