Covering the spot I indicated for around 30 seconds cuts me full signal to less than half. That is just laying the phone in my hand covering it with my four fingers.

But this is no surprise as it is posted in the manual. Every cell phone I have ever used has had a similar warning in the manual. So the reaction I get is expected and no surprise.

Of course, the effect of this depends a lot on how you hold the phone, but the placement on the TP2 is very good. Not all phones are as good. The placement on the HTC/Sprint Diamond is really bad (bottom back of the phone).

If you are in a limited signal area holding it wrong will drop your call...

i read it too... and yesterday i tried to cover top part of the phone and it did drop signal. antenna is ideally should not be touched and in old phones it used to pop out. with internal intenna now, i guess a small compromise is ok.. for i phone the strip was all the reason ha... i read in pre-release reviews that it is supposed to make the reception better however turned out to be a total opposite....

Sorry to break your hear EVO users.. but thats the truth. Like it or not... your stuck with a slug slow CPU with a ferrari name. lol
Also i read the reviews of captivate and Droid X on pocketnow.com which has the comparison of the processors and mentions the snapdragon processor is marginally slow compared to hummingbird and the OMAP.

Re: TP2 bar drops like iphone 4.. lol.

I agree, my TP2 goes from full bars to no service. All I have to do is hold my left thumb on the top right corner, touch the middle back with my index fingers, wrap the bottom with the palm of my right hand, break the phone in half with my left palm while dipping the phone in water inside of a lead box.

Re: TP2 bar drops like iphone 4.. lol.

My Sprint TP2 drops 3 bars holding it on top, too.

Also, bars drop just by bringing phone to my ear (holding it from the bottom.)
