I'd say you haven't really used the new version of Bing. I don't have any technical problems on my phone, just the results. They're completely worthless as others have said!

Please tell us what you like about the new version. May be we're all missing something.

Re: Success with old bing?

Left a message on the MS forum too. For me on an older i-910 Omnia I'm pretty sure they are blocking me due to a smaller screen size but like I said over there, it's a better experience in an app by far, even if maybe the resolution was off than it ever will be for me, and a lot of other now kicked out users than on the web interface. Web tries to be interactive but it isn't cutting it at all. Just like M$ to suck me in then kill it. Great. Anyone come up with a real work around yet? Reg key hack to fool it into thinking I have a fancy new this years pone?

Re: Success with old bing?

I deleted the new Bing after the "forced" update. It never found my location and was good for nothing. I guess just Google maps will do.

Re: Success with old bing?

someone asked about other options... I find the new google maps offers more precise locations, closer, more updated, etc.. surprised no one mentioned (unless i missed, if so sorry)...

I do everything via voice, no typing.. I have all these apps, here's what I use them for:
Bing: voice internet searches ("wiki chuck yeager")
Google maps: any businesses or directions (speak "movie", click on any theater (closest), choose details tab), dunno about send to friend.. haven't tried.
Tellme: to voice to text, txt msging
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106097
may help...
Personally I thought old bing sucked BIG time, LOVE new bing.. just my opinion...

For me, anyway, clicking the Details Tab in Google Maps only gives me a link to the general website for the Theater, and opens in my Web Browser, and there seems to be no way to just see the movies playing and the times they're playing at any given theater (which is what was so nice about the older Bing version).

It was doing the same thing to me until I figured out what was happening. Bing's search engine is fine. What's broken is the default search phrases. Instead of searching for "All Restaurants" change it to "Restaurants" and search again. My results went from random restaurants in a 50-mile radius to everything nearby. Perfect results.

I hated the Bing beta, but this is much better. Locate Me never worked for me in the old version so it always started up in Seattle.

Thanks for the post - I tried this, and while it now shows more restaurants, none of them are in my town. So it looks like there are at least 2 bugs here: the fact that it can't handle "All Restaurants" properly, and that the database is extremely poor, at least for some geographic locations.
