Re: LAG! Unresponsive

Try lighter ROM, I suggest SUPER ROM, trust me, it's my own experience.

You never regret it. If there's no lighter ROM than the stock ROM I already in Android zone, , but now my friend jealous with my RhodiumW speed. btw my friend use Milestone. Yeah of course that woud be different if he use EVO or Nexus, it's have faster processor.

Manila is dog slow. Don't believe me? Try iphonetoday, SPB Mobile Shell, or biganand's rom with MaxSense all *much* faster.

I feel your pain on the contact manager. Personal favorite is Iconsoft PhoneEx v2.2 though the SPB Mobile Shell contact manager isn't too bad and much faster.

Oh, flashing a custom rom goes a long way too. More free space and no bloatware. You can always install stuff like Sprint TV in a cab if you wish.

For something simple, try MightyRom 6.5/m2.1 (2-10-2010), my "good ol' standby" ROM.

Actually I don't think this is the case. Winmo 6.5 getting bogged down is the issue. I was using Mighty for a long time and it always went the same way. First week or so after flash the phone was great, then slowly it would become increasingly slower. I ended up getting extremely annoyed so I switched over to this rom http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=105295, which uses winmo6.1 with Sense instead of 6.5. The difference is incredible. I suppose you give up a few newer features here and there but for reliability and speed theres nothing close. I've been using the 6.1 build for a couple months now and it's still just as fast as when I flashed it. Give it a shot, I think it will fix a lot of your problems.

that looks like a good ROM but the amount of free RAM is the same as the current sprint stock 6.5 and i also believe that 6.1 is now a victim of that 2016 bug, i dont think a patch was ever released for the TP2, the 6.5 was released instead.

Re: LAG! Unresponsive

yep, my custom TP2 with mobile shell was a joy to use.
Now my HD2 is smoking. I would have loved to see what a tp2 with 1ghz and double the ram could do. 312mb of free RAM on start up. (not to mention 688 of program memory)

Re: LAG! Unresponsive

I am running NRG's 23569 ROM, using sense 2.5 (I turn off the weather animation with CHT) & my system runs really fast & smooth. It runs well enough that I have no desire whatever to switch to Android at this time although I probably will eventually.

I install EVERYTHING to the phone memory except for GPS maps that are huge.

I also keep my SMS inbox cleaned out regularly (it always cracks me up when someone says "my phone has been lagging really bad ever since I restored 4200 text messages")

Re: LAG! Unresponsive

If you could get someone to cook up a 6.5 fixed stock rom like Mr. X did for Verizon, you'd be done with SODs, freezing, lag, whathaveyou. When I first flashed 6.5, it was *horrible*, I was taking the battery out every time I wanted to use the phone! Now, no SODs whatsover. So there's that

Re: LAG! Unresponsive

And there are some of us with stock ROMs, heavy email usage, et cetera with no problems. Lags though do occur, but none like you describe. What email application are you using? I used Flexmail successfully on my TP, but it caused the TP2 to slow way down and kill the battery.

I am using yahoo, gmail, and my co,'s address....all set up through the WinMo setup wizard. I am on a 10 minute send/receive schedule, and 7 days worth of emails only from my inbox. Never more than 50-100 emails on my phone. I delete most texts, especially picture texts.

What is the most powerful/capable touchscreen business focused phone out there?

probably the htc hd2 for winmo. There is a big difference. When I first set up my email for yahoo, I had about 150 emails to download, full message with attachments and it took about 2minutes.
The problem I think you are having is that you have it set to check your emails every 10 minutes. If you have 3 emails to check, and each one takes 1-2minutes to update, your phone is always processing, so when you go to do something else, it has to change gears.

But your best bet for business might be a no nonsense blackberry.
