Will Sprint Cover this?

my touch pro 2's screen/glass got cracked at work and it looks like a cracked mirror or windshield. does anyone know if sprint would fix this? i have insurance for it but only the 4$/ month one since i used up 3 claims from asurion. if it doesnt, then should i even be paying for insurance?

thanks in advance

Re: Will Sprint Cover this?

a little hard on phones???
If you've used up your 3 phones through asurion, then I don't know. I think the other part only covers manufacturer defect.

Re: Will Sprint Cover this?

Touch Pro 2's are going pretty cheap now, seen good units going for 150.00 to 175.00. that might be a better route.

Re: Will Sprint Cover this?

not trying to jack the thread, but I also have a TP2 with a cracked glass. It does not have any discoloration or streaking just 2 cracks going threw the glass. Everything works fine, its been working for the past few months with no problems. But I want to get it fixed but I dont want to go threw the insurence to do it. Where would be a good place to get a new screen to replace this one? A tech at a local shop said he would swap it out if I get the part, but when I look I see alot of different stuff that "might" be what I need, I just dont know what to get.

Re: Will Sprint Cover this?

well, ya never know till you try a repair store, maybe you'll get lucky and they have a screen to swap and the repair person knows what their doing. it's definitely a grey area though.. from my experience dropping every ppc since the ipaq, i've never had a screen break or crack. I really think that many of these are in-fact defects and should be covered. and keep in mind that some of these drops were off ladders and roof's onto things like decking and landscape rocks. numerous drops from torso/head high onto pavement. I just end up with a few dents/cracks in the plastic but never the screen. maybe i'm just lucky and it never hit dead on the screen, but it sounds like many of these reports weren't that way either. heck i've even seen one survive a fall off a 35mph jeep.

If its been over a year, they may do it, as long as you have TEP. It sounds like you just have the free repair insurance though for that price. The best way to find out would obviously be to call Asurion yourself or go to their web page. Please let us know what happens so future members may be informed.

it seems like this would be a good route for you, especially after 3 insurance claims.
buy one for 150-175 and use it for parts, as long as you don't break the same part.
