Re: Phone as router while using computer's internet?

Hmm... I think I found my issue. My phone won't let me have a concurrent USB connection while I have a Wi-Fi connection on and vice versa. Anyway to solve this?

They did? Well it does is kinda hard to set up. And thank you for helping me. If this doesn't work, then I guess I'll just break down and buy a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB adapter... Hopefully I won't have to.

EDIT: WTF... (Pardon my acronym...) It works now on my DS. I do I have manually insert every god dang piece of info but it works.
So you have to set up the IP and DNS on the DS for it to pick it up?

EDIT* I tried it with "Auto Detect" and no dice...

Actually no... It just saw the network and I could then set up the IP and DNS stuff from within.

And dang it. My Wi-Fi isn't working now... I wonder what happened... Well anybody else who had this issue after using the WMWifiRouter app wanna help me out?

Yeah. Several times. The program also messes up now too. It tries to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot when I use the USB to Wi-Fi mode. Don't know why. I hope I don't have to hard reset...

I seriously can't believe that I didn't think of that... Just tried that with a soft reset and it still doesn't work... I can't believe this... Hmm... I could live without Wi-Fi I guess until I reflash my phone. Doesn't matter too much to me. I just tether it to my computer anyways.

In my case, I have T-Mobile USA and on pre-paid (don't knock me for that...) and I can access T-Zones with that for free. However, I was wondering if I can do this crazy thing...

I know that if I connect to my PC and establish an ActiveSync connection between the two, the TP2 and the PC, I can use the PC's internet connection on my phone. I'm wondering if I can take it one step farther than that and make it so that while my phone is connected to my computer's internet, it is able to broadcast that internet connection through the Wi-Fi Router. I've tried looking through the settings for this and I can't seem to find it. Everything that is there involves me using the mobile network's internet as the data source for the Wi-Fi Router. Reason for me wanting to do this is because... Well... My DS can't connect to WPA2 connections and that is what my house is currently using. I want to use my phone as a secondary router that uses WEP security for the moments when I need to go on Wi-Fi with my DS. Any way to do this? Thanks to anyone who can help me!
had this same problem with my kids DS's. Couldn't get the TP2 wifi to work with them, so I just downgraded my security for my home internet to make the kids happy. WEP all around.
